This facility was created as a venue for competitive swimming, diving, and artistic swimming for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It did not open to the general public even after the Olympics, but it finally opened in April 2023. With the opening of this facility, the nearby Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center has closed its pool operations and is being converted into an ice arena. Most of the time it is used for swimming competitions, but when it is empty it is open to the public. Unlike at Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center, the main pool and sub pool are separated at the entrance and are not connected inside the facility. Also, shared use is not possible, so you will need to decide which pool you want to use at the time of entry. I used it twice in 2023, but it seemed to be quite rare for the general public to use it. (Most of them are group lane rental users) Therefore, there was a long period of time when the entire 50m course could be used exclusively. Please note that this is a completely professional pool, so the water temperature is low. The water depth of the main pool is 2.0m, but on rare days it may be changed to 1.4m. Access is about a 10-minute walk from Tatsumi Station, but it is easier to use the free shuttle bus from Toyosu Station, Shinkiba Station, and Shiomi Station.
