Odaiba seems to me like a place locals might go to if they haven't really got anywhere else to go on a weekend. There's a nice mall, there's a nice square for walking around, the huge Gundam statue used to be there (I read somewhere that they intend to erect a new and improved one sometime in the future), and... We went there by Rinkai line from Shinjuku to tokyo teleport station (we did not have to change any train on this line) just outside the station you feel extremely scenic and nice. Since we were there on a Monday the Toyota history museum was closed but do go ahead on the bridge where Toyota showroom is located its extremely... More

We visited here during our Panoramic Tokyo tour. We were only given 30 minutes unfortunately, so we just window shopped to see what kind of stores they had here. They had some really nice stores like Stussy, which I wanted to spend some time in, but couldn't because of the time constraint. There's a small Statue of Liberty nearby which... More

Odaiba Island is very futuristic, that is for sure. I took the Yurikamome line to Tokyo Big Site and felt like I was part of a science fiction movie! :-)

Found a nice little bay with a beac area. A few families were enjoying the weather. Good for paddling, but not swimming. There are drinks machines nearby and a cafe.

Good scenic place, away from the hustle bustle. The area around the mall and the bridge are good places for morning jog or an evening leisure walk.

Odaiba is the pure entertainment part of Tokyo. First of all the multi storey bridge gives good views of the island and Tokyo Bay. You can walk or use metro to pass it. And then you have viewing decks to take pictures and the rest of Tokyo. You have famous Odeo Onsen and finally entertainment and shopping center Diver City...It... More

Had so much fun visiting Odaiba. Near to the sea. Few shopping area. Surprised to see the statue of liberty. Waited for the bridge light up. Kinda dissapointed. Not as nice as the new year light up.

Thank Tony K

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
