Just an amazing place, each bar is like a new rabbit hole. Sure, some are expensive, some aren't friendly, but you can find one that's for you. Trust me you won't regret it. It may seem a little dirty, but it's safe, and truly unique.

Most unusual .. small area only about one block with narrow alleys housing lots of extremely small bars that serve drinks. Some bars are so small they could only fit 2 or 3 persons. Must not miss

We attempted a couple to stop into a few places in Golden Gai they seemed unfriendly to foreigners or had a cover charge. I recommend Memory Lane over Golden Gai.

A cluster of narrow alleyways with tiny bars (seating no more than 10 people). Most places do cater for tourists with English menus and English speaking staff. We went into 3 bars, drinks were priced around ¥700-1000 each so a bit pricey compared to rest...More

Over 200 tiny drinking dens, each with their own theme. A great way to meet new people from all over the world, sample the local sake and try your hand at karaoke (if your brave enough). Just be careful as some places have a cover...More

Expensive drinks but good to go and see what it's all about. Just stop for one drink and pick any bar. We were welcomed into a sake bar and met some nice people from around the world

These tiny little bars are a cool place to drink with and make new friends with fellow travelers from all over. Some of them are only for locals, which are obvious from their "members only" signs, but it's not hard to find the ones that...More

Great location with some Tiny bars. Visited about 5, only one had a cover charge, although others the drinks were 800 yen at a minimum for a beer. I really enjoyed several of the bars and met a lot of English speaking folks. Only one...More

This is a very unique place. There area about 150 bars all right next to each other. They are all very, very small. Capacity is only 6 to 8 people at each place but it is a lot of fun. You must visit ot.

We walked into a bar- baca or something like that and had great drinks. The server was so friendly and helpful although didn't speak English. We heard that some are a little stand off-ish but this one was great- she put whiskeys in order or...More

Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and
contains the busiest train station in the world. To
the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo
Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the
east, there’s a district with long-established
department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku
Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the
Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for

It's easy to go, I think that it is good to come out to JR Shinjuku Station east exit. Other Shinjuku Line Sanchome Station Please come aimed at Shinjuku.
