The permanent western art collection is worth seeing because it is well curated and not over bearing. To me, some very good choices. Noted on the Rodins just outside the museum - a good place to have them. Le Corbusier’s museum building in itself is...More

The weekend I was arrived this open and is on till Jan 2018. What can I say, 11/10, superb. I visited twice I was so overwhelmed the first time. It's a huge exhibition and if you like Impressionist art it's worth visiting for that and...More

Peaceful, quiet, and wonderful fellow museum-goers. A very well-stocked museum full of famous works by Fragonard, Courbet, especially with Monet's large water lilies painting near the exit! BUT if you'll be bored by western art, you may skip this museum. Museum is also centrally located,...More

I love this museum. It's in the Ueno park which is very nice to walk around. Beautiful architecture designed by Le Corbusier. When you go inside you can see the slopes instead stairs. Has nice garden middle of the building. You can see Rodin's sculptures...More

I was not expecting this. Not only was it an incredible gallery with a stunning collection of amazing western art, but the building itself is incredible. Designed by Le Corbousier it's a stunning example of modernist architecture. Worth the small entry price for the interior...More

Though smaller that I expected but many good collections of very famous artists like Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Renoir, Gauguin... etc. Also the museum just next to the Ueno Park, good to have a walk there too.

It's so nice and amazing about architecture when come inside museum. Especially, we come in night. Those are many painting and statue to be displayed unique and fancy.

Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
