A lot of shops, a lot of Pachinku, a lot of good and a lot of traditional clothing. What to not like about this place? It's even really close to Itabashi and Ikebukuro!!!

The small streets are nice to see and also the area has some interesting restaurants. It is easy to get there by JR line. Overall a nice 4 hours trip. In additional you can stop at the Ueno park.

Ueno is an amazing suburbs tale the time to look around the station and then the many side street offering great food and drinks combined with warm hospitality. Make sure you allow enough time to check out the markets as they are a must.

I hardly go to markets, and I got sucked into this one somehow. I only came looking for one specific thing and strolled for over an hour there just gazing upon the little stores and stands

Ueno is on the Yamanote Line and is typical Tokyo but it is worth a visit because the Ueno Park (and the Zoo). There are many places around Tokyo just like Ueno but worth a visit.

Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
