Small but nice amusement park suited for small children. This is what a simple theme park looks like before big corporation types like Disneyland or Universal Studios came about. Affordable and not so crowded, you do not need to spend much time queuing for the...More

We took our grand-daughter walking in Asakusa, heard the happy screams of children and found this lovely old style fun park with lots of rides for all ages and great food options. Rides are short and cheap so even the terrifying roller coaster is fine...More

Before Disney, there was Hanayashiki. A small, vintage amusement park with a few retro rides, some snack stalls and a charmingly simple atmosphere. Pre-teens would be bored but toddlers will love this place.

Visited here last night in the build up to the Sumida river Hanabi (fireworks). Ended up staying through the whole event. Despite the constant rain, we (especially my kid) had a great time! With the rain meant no queues at all. He must have done...More

I took my 6 year old here after he got bored of the nearby temple. We got the unlimited rides bracelets, which you buy near the merry go round, not from the machines. You buy your entrance fee separately. We rode the roller coaster 7...More

The amusement park won't kock your socks off, but it's still a fun place to visit in Tokyo. It's the oldest amusement park in the city and all the rides are pretty straight forward, although some of them are unexpectedly thrilling. If there's one thing...More

There aren't many rides Nor really thrilling rides here but a great place to be with the local kids and families. It was nice experience queuing for rides with largely kids and teenagers. Retro rides and decor added special charm to this place.

This place sets the benchmark for the efficient use of space. So many rides squeeze in one small area! Although the rides were pretty old. They look and feel pretty well maintained. I guessed it's worth to buy the day pass if you really sat...More

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping
