We regularly stop here for lunch and today did not stop. The food was exceptional as always. We had the pasta and the fish of the day (barramundi) and enjoyed it with some of the local wines.

One to the highlights is always the tastings at the cellar day. (Kerry?) is always fantastic with her tastings and is super friendly and knowledgeable.

We left with a case of the local wines and had a fantastic afternoon. A must visit if you are in the area.

I I took my friend out today for lunch at Merricks General Store. I love the slightly shabby exterior, reminiscent of an old farmhouse replete with two dogs stretched out on the front veranda. The inside is warm and lovely with a fire burning. Large picture windows let in the precious winter sunshine.
The male and female waiters that served us were both fabulous. Smiling, helpful, lovely. Wine tastings allow you to select the perfect wine to suit your taste from a great selection of Mornington Peninsula wines. I had a Portsea Chardonnay that was expensive but divine. I had the risotto and my friend had the Merricks burger. Both were fabulous. An extensive mouthwatering display of cakes are available. On this occasion we both chose the creme Brule which was delicious. All up a fabulous experience of food, wine and great service in a delightful restaurant. Highly recommended in every respect.

Attended with friends and family for both breakfast and lunch. Relaxed dining, good menu, friendly staff, restricted views of Westernport Bay. Wine tasting and local produce purchase options. One end of Scenic Walk (Heritage Track between Red Hill and Merricks).

Wine nice, staff friendly but no communication between staff to establish if patrons have already been served. Menu overpriced and too ‘showy’ so we decided to eat elsewhere but as I said wine was nice.

This place was highly recommended to me. So we booked for lunch. The food was fine but not amazing. For the price it was underwhelming. The service was ok but not to the standard

We waited for 90 minutes, an hour and a half, for our food. Their kitchen is not capable of serving the tables or space that they have setup. Simple math..

Stopped in for a quick coffee break whilst exploring the area. Lovely waitress gave us a table for six and didn’t mind that even though it was busy we were only after coffees food coming past looked fantastic. Will be back to try the menu one day

Just had an amazing lunch. The food was delicious, I recommend the charcuterie platter to share for starters, the parfait & terrine were delicious. The staff were very attentive & friendly, the service was great, fast but not rushed. Exceptional service at the cellar door too. Thanks so much for a wonderful lunch.

I love this place and visit regularly.

It is always bustling with people from locals to those visiting the peninsula.

I loved the produce they sell especially the locally made meringues with chocolate swirls the best I’ve ever had.
The wine tastings and choice is a mix of the local best.

The coffee is always good here.
Love it for breakfast not cheap however it is a hearty breakfast.

Lunch is lovely with great choices and a real quality of ingredients and cooking.

The Traders markets are great lots of high quality interesting goods.

I also love the garden with the big tree and exquisitely painted elephant.

Thank goodness someone keeps evolving this General Store incredibly well. Great to have been there for such a long time. Long love the General Store. I wish Somers General Store could reinvent itself.

Merricks General Store has its own little charm. The old building, creaky floorboards and happy staff really make you feel at home. The coffee and food is always well prepared, you could easily stay here from breakfast to dinner by the wood fire.
