- Rich P1 contributionBehind the scenes Birthday experienceWe took the behind the scenes tour as part of my 50th Birthday. Wow what a blast my wife and I had! The park was quiet as it was a Wednesday in January which made the day even special as the staff had the time to chat with us. The behind the scenes tour was very enjoyable even for a 50year old kid. We were able to get up close with kangaroos, lemurs and feed a lion. What an amazing experience how many people get to feed a lion? Well worth the time and was the highlight of this you boys Birthday. Now we want to go back and take part in the bed and breakfast program. Thanks for your part in making Birthday one I won't forgetVisited January 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten January 19, 2023
- D A1 contributionGreat time!My granddaughter and I booked the Back Stage event. We got to choose which animals we would like to see and, true to the description, we got to touch, feed and interact with them. It was amazing to see the jungle cats up close. The lions and tigers will not disappoint. The staff are very friendly and happy to help and answer questions, and it is an easy drive from the GTA. We cannot wait for our return visit!Visited February 2023Written February 12, 2023
- Alina Luiz1 contributionWeekend away from the cityWe went there with my 4 year old. We absolutely enjoyed every second of the time we spent there. The animals were well taken care of and looked healthy. The park and picnic spot were so nice. The staff were courteous. The washroom was clean and the premises was well maintained.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten February 27, 2023
- OlenaM2016Toronto, Canada10 contributionsAmazing as usual! We love the Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park and it is our 4th time we visited it. During the "Behind the scene" we met the red kangaroos, Savanah cat and lemurs. The lemurs were beyond our expectations: friendly, curious, jumped on us, groomed us and just they just so adorable. Great experience and we will be back.Visited March 2023Written March 20, 2023
- M M1 contributionAmazing!!!! Well worth a visit!!!We have been visiting this amazing zoo for many years now. We also partake in "Behind the scenes" encounters. We have found that the park and there employees to be nothing short of amazing. They are highly knowledgeable about these animals and are true professions in every way. The animals are extremely well kept and are in huge enclosures. I can honestly HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jungle Cat World for a visit. Come and see for yourself just how amazing both the staff and the habitat are!!!Visited September 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten March 24, 2023
- Judy F1 contributionThe Ultimate Zoo TourMy grandson and I were there in 2002. The cabin we were assigned was exceptional accommodation. The evening meal and get together with other visitors was enjoyable. What an exceptional tour at night. We walked along the route that toured behind the animal's cages, walked through the elphant's house and rhino's. We saw the leopard lying with it's leg bandaged. These were the highlights, but the whole tour was outstanding. After breakfast we travelled in little road vehicle shaped like a train. Highlight was when we observed 2 young wolf pups sitting on a small slope looking around. Story was told that they were the pride of the ZOO! The plan was that the female wolf was going to be moved to another ZOO, but she was pregnant. Also remember something about the male was supposed to have been neutralized. There was n employee contest on to select names for the two offspring wolves. we followed a couple of giraffs down the road. Watched the lions, elphants and of course the monkeys and viewed the snakes. Over the years I have tried to find an interested someone with choldren that would go to ZOO overnight, and I would join them. Also Chicgo has similar offering. I have visited the ZOO approx 25 times during my lifetime. I have always lived in Northern Ontario, Sault Ste Marie and the ZOO was a primary attraction on my list. Especially the polar bears. Do you remember the bear called Charlie? My photos are at another residence, I could forward Thursdsy April 20Visited June 2022Travelled with familyWritten April 18, 2023

Wolves names were Thor and Loki they were amazing and so friendly. Then off to feed a Lion and the an 800lb pound tiger. What an amazing experience and highly recommend this adventure. We also had Jess from Jungle Cat world take us around and explain the do's and don'ts for theses event. Jess is truly awesome and made this an even more enjoyable experience.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten June 20, 2023
- Abigail W1 contributionAn amazing day at jungle cat worldMy son and I did the behind the scenes experience and Tabby was our guide. I can not say enough good things about her and the interaction of the behind the scene experience. We were there with my other kids and my uncle as well and they were able to to follow along and got to watch us and were not left out. We got to the park just in time to watch the big cats get feed and it was so much fun. The absolute best part was going into the lemur cage and having them climb all over us and feed them. They were so gentle it was definitely a great day and I highly recommend going.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten June 20, 2023

An absolutely electrifying experience! It was surreal! We've never see animals like these ever before, and in such a close proximity. The feeding tour was thrilling while the sweet lady fed the animals she also gave us so much exciting information about the animals, they had such an amazing bond! I highly recommend visiting, especially with kids. They also give these small packets of pellets which you can feed the friendly donkey, bunnies and llamas. The kind old lady who owns the place was very welcoming and sweet.

What an amazing place to visit and experience. All of the animals are so happy and have bonded to their loving keepers. Completed the Behind the Scenes experience with the amazing Jesse, who you can tell is super passionate about her role. Fed a gorgeous striped hyena named Ed, howled with Loki the wolf, and fed Belak the stunning snow leopard. Jesse spent time explaining everything about the animals, and its safe to say this is not the last time I'll visit! You can also watch their daily feeding at 1:30pm and learn about the different animals, and pet bunnies, goat, a donkey and alpacas that roam throughout the sanctuary!! Thank you for being such an amazing sanctuary to these well-loved angels.

I took my daughter, who is a big animal lover, for her birthday and it was amazing. We did the behind the scenes package for her birthday and we interacted with a wolf, lemur and fed a cougar! Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly, and you could really tell she loved her job and loved the animals. Definitely recommend!

I live a few hours away from Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park and have wanted to visit for a few years now. I finally made the trip on Sept 23rd with my Sister. We had an amazing time. I took lots of photos and had a ‘Behind the Scenes’ with a Boa Constrictor, Lion & Cougar. I have always loved wild cats, so this was a dream come true. We will definitely be going again next year. I would go more often if I lived closer. The animals are well cared for and it was nice to see people of all ages enjoying their day visiting with these beautiful animals.

Hi. Just wondering about how the animals are treated and if any of them are drugged. I really want to take my girlfriend there but we do not support animal cruetly for the purpose of entertainment.

Hi. This place genuinely seems to love their animals, they even have all the organic food brought in from the local Sobey's. Sure the cages could be a bit bigger, for example the panther's, but they get fed good fresh chicken. Saw the girls feeding the rabbits fresh dandelion. So, take your gf and you'll enjoy the day.

Hi,
A question to anyone who has stayed overnight. Is it noisy? Are the animals noisy at all overnight? We are travelling with a one year old so would be good to know how disturbed he might be.
Many thanks

Hi, they are not noisy during the night, We stayed overnight a couple years ago and could not hear anything in our room at night. We went around the zoo at midnight, it was fun:) bring a flashlight to see them better. Enjoy

Yes, we stayed one night. It wasn't noisy at all, but it was off season. It was kind of cool to hear the lions roar at night though.

There is only a snack bar there. I am pretty sure you can find some restaurants near by, and also take some food that you can put in the fridge in your room.
Is it $90 or $125 for behind the scenes? I see people saying different prices?
julietaylor1995
Courtice, Canada1 contribution
90.00 is for any 3 animals not including the baby tiger if you want to see the tiger it's 125.00 plus two other animals
Why do people say this is a horrible place and should be shut down?

When we were there, quite a few of the animals were pacing back and forth. BUT, it was almost time for the feeding tour and I’m sure they knew it. All of the animals looked healthy. On our Behind the Scenes tour, we had booked to see the red fox. Our guide suggested the fennel fox as it would be a better choice for our 4 year old grandson. It is a great place for smaller kids as it isn’t a huge place. We were there for approximately 3 hours (including the 1 hour Behind the Scenes) and saw everything. My grandson wants to go back, and we will definitely take him again.
We have a group of 14 planning a visit on July 1st. Can you give us more information on how to participate in feeding tour. Do we have to sign up in advanced?

Hello there. How are you? The feeding tour is free..... with the entrance price. If you want to do any of the behind the scenes or Safari Adventure you need to sign up before hand - I would say weeks before or even longer because they get booked up fast. Remember you have to sign wavers for the once in a life time experience. Do not forget to purchase a bag of food for 5 dollars to feed the goats and rabbits. Enjoy your stay. Love it all.!

The Safari room says it sleeps up to 5, yet it has one bed and a sofa bed (so guessing that is 4?). Can you confirm the sleeping options in this room or if a cot is available for the 5th person? Thank you.
Joanne C
Elmvale, Canada23 contributions
yes there is sleeping for 5. Our two younger granddaughters slept together on the double bed in the living room and the oldest chose to sleep on the couch rather than the single bed beside the air conditioner. We had a wonderful experience there. A few housekeeping issues but hopefully they have been resolved.

Good evening, was wondering how are you able to get Behind the Scenes with both the tiger cub and lion cub?
Joanne C
Elmvale, Canada23 contributions
Unfortunately you need to choose one or the other of these adorable fur babies along with two other animal choices for the Behind the Scenes option. We chose Serena the Tiger cub and also very much enjoyed "kissing" the Kangaroo and playing with and feeding the adorable Lemurs, our Girls favorites especially Jazz.
Do you have a wheelchair rental available?

I don't really know whether they have wheelchairs available. I didn't see any on the premises. In any case the grounds are pretty rough for a wheelchair.
