We were to stop in Nanton for the Bomber Squadron display but they were closed so we had some free time and seen across the street the Museum of Miniatures and decided to stop in. We were glad we did, or we could have missed a building full of one man's hobbies and interests. Every thing was well done and well displayed. When you can make a field of corn and put every stock in a perfect row including the cut stocks you know you have seen the best a man can do. This is for people that want to learn about our past through complex dioramas and pictures and a few artifacts as well. Nice couple running the museum.

Far too expensive for what they have. Not accurate depiction of history and looks very childish, in fact the owner admitted that a lot of the displayed were done by his children. Now the place has a for sale sign on the property. Don’t waste your time and money.

Visited the museum along with family. Entry is CAD9/- per person. The entry desk is manned by one of the most cheerful and friendly couple I have come across.
Although not a big area in size, it gives a detailed and interesting peek into the past. This museum gives a different perspective into how life and lifestyles of the older settlers in this region evolved. One can spend a good two hours and the effort gone into the upkeep of this place is truly commendable.
It gives a snapshot of the life (including a slice of popular culture) in the last couple of century or so.
You are given a small laminated paper explaining the exhibits of miniature cars on display beginning from 1800s onwards...its part of the display.
Well worth checking out and would recommend it if you are planning on a visit to Nanton.
Don't also forget to check out the Army museum and the ever popular candy store nearby.

This would be a good place for a family with kids to stop, especially on a rainy day. The owners have purchased thousands of miniature human figures, animals, and objects, and constructed a Western-oriented context to display them in. Starting in the late 1800s, and travelling clockwise around the relatively small gallery, one can see how Western Canada evolved. Below the main diorama is a chronological sequence of automobiles and light and heavy trucks, all of which are listed on a handy, plasticized sheet, available at the entrance. The centre of the gallery displays a less coordinated collection of scenes. The whole place, previously housed in Cranston, is aimed at children, whose parents will be able to ask stimulating questions about the display.

Roy Wittman, the creator, is very knowledgeable, creative and an excellent storyteller.
Carol, his wife and partner, is very pleasant and accommodating.
The items in the museum were delicately-made, interesting and top of the notch.

Bring a camera - the miniatures are very well done (locally). The items are preserved very well. The miniature car collection is awesome as well.

We had driven from Calgary to Nanton to view the Bomber Command Museum and we also stopped at this attraction Glad we did. Detailed dioramas reflecting Alberta's past. Very unique and interesting. Thoroughly enjoyed the displays as well as chatting with the owner and artist.

When we first walked in, we expected only to visit the gift shop but the owners were so engaging that we went through the museum too. At $9 an adult and nothing for a 4 year old, we didn't think that was too expensive.

We were given a personal tour by the owner who explained in great detail how and why the museum was set up the way it was, how long it took and other interesting details.

Our 4 year old had so many questions - it was like a real version of Where's Waldo as we searched the landscapes to find unique and cool items hidden in the scenery.

We loved it. Please stop in Nanton and visit the brilliant little gems hidden on every street.
