Jardí Botànic de Cap Roig is a botanical garden located in the coast of Costa Brava, close to Calella de Palafrugell, one of the most beautiful towns in the region, in Girona province, in the North of Catalonia. I came here in february-2020, so in winter period. In this period, some places in the garden are on works like the main castle or some gardens. However, the price of the entrance was 10€, too much for seeing a part of the visit. Also, the vegetation is not so beautiful due to winter period and the best lookout is closed at this time (it is a lookout in a high point called just Cap Roig). Also, the place is nice, but the surroundings are poorly maintained, it is a pity! I supose that in summer with the festival the place is better.

A beautiful walk, I find crazy the idea of this couple and its translation of a Mediterranean garden!
Excellent but I recommend following the arrows scattered during the visit, they will allow you to visit this garden in order of numbers and avoid wanderings of Belgians we met and crossed... who have not seen a part of garden
Do not hesitate to come if you have 2:00 in front of you, you will not regret!

I normally dont give bad reviews, but I am just being absolutely honest here.
The garden had festival going on on the day me and my partner visited(mid July). The fence was unlocked on the way to the official gate & we saw people snuck in the garden without paying for the tickets.
Most plants in the garden were all listless and dry. The castle and other few gates were locked due to the music festival.
It demonstrated as a very big garden, but it only took us 15 minutes to walk through the garden twice, took pictures and properly read the signs. Also please notice that you are not able to visit all the areas in the pictures listed in the official website, as they are just closed.
One last thing needs mentioning, please be cautious when you decide to pay for the tickets. It is confirmed that they only charge money but dont do refund for any situation.

What a disappointment...and I mean the organization of the festival.
The gardens CLOSED until concert time.
The Village is expensive with little offer, the toilets are difficult to access and there are very few chairs.
People with difficulty walking sitting on dirt walls,
A shame not to be able to visit the gardens.

Beautifully arranged botanical garden with many various species from the Mediterranean and beyond. So many cacti! Everything was labelled well, and it's a great place to visit in order to get a lovely view of the sea. There was a concert / festival being set up while we were there, but that didn't affect our visit. Recommend.

Yes, it is a very large garden, very well organized and maintained, with beautiful views of the sea and the coast.
But we expected much better after reading the comments! Very few flowers, flowerbeds waiting to be planted, signage that is both uninformative and too intrusive with panels 80 cm high in the middle of the shrubs...
In any case, the price of €12 seemed excessive to us.

A beautiful botanic garden in a stunning location. The garden was immaculate and contained lots of sections with different plant and insect species - we even saw humming bird hawk moths - amazing! The views from the terraces were captivating and although it was perhaps not the best time to see the plants in bloom, there was still lots to see and admire.

What a beautiful walk!! Plants, flowers, trees, huge cacti...in a magnificent panorama!! It was a joy to walk through these alleys. There is a large picnic area, a reading corner with a fountain...idyllic. take a photo of the map to get your bearings because it is very large and a small bottle of water because you quickly get thirsty because there are some climbs!

Really nice and huge site with a terrible view, an impressive number of plants, shade to hide (a little) from the sun 😅,
Very pleasant and smiling staff (which is becoming rare...)
In short, a great time with the family!!
Treat yourself 👍👍
