About
Regarded as one St-Martin’s most famous beaches, Orient Bay Beach enjoys the reputation of being the “St. Tropez of the Caribbean.” This stunning strip of white sand with clear turquoise waters is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. There is no shortage of bars, restaurants, and beach clubs to choose from, and a strong breeze makes for great parasailing, kitesurfing, and hand gliding. While Plage Naturiste at the southern end is the designated nudist stretch of the beach, you will find that many visitors adopt a clothing-optional mindset all the way along Orient Bay Beach. – Tripadvisor

    Beautiful Beach
Beautiful beach, short ride from the cruise ship port. Nice restaurants with drinks and a little shopping. $20 USD for chairs and umbrella, good deal. The only island in our cruise to sell Red Stipe 😊 Six for $20 is a great deal! The one place that we visited that I wish to return. I should also mention the nudists down the way will inevitably take a leisurely stroll, no need to go to that side to sneak a peek 🫣

Fun and Relaxation in the Sun in Paradise
Beautiful, Relaxing Beaches with great food and scenery! Love Le String for fabulous drinks and food. Prices are good and service is impeccable! The Pain Killer is the best!!!! Stay away from Aloha, they charged us a $40 surcharge, which was 30% of our bill. The food was fine, but the surcharge was beyond ludicrous!!!! We will never darken their doors again! We only went because Le String was closed.....

    A more lively beach experience
Beach was pretty, but there was a decent amount of seaweed. It was $20 for 2 chairs and an umbrella to rent and came with 2 drinks. This is a busier beach than some of the others on the island. If you want music, water sports, and a more lively beach experience, this is for you! Tops optional and nude at one end. Just a heads up for those traveling with kids who may want to know upfront.

This is a beach with everything to offer
This beach is a long white sand beach facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is a beautiful beach to say the least. It has six restaurants on the beach. One of note is La Playa which had unbelievably good food and service. The beach is not supposed to be topless but I would estimate about one fourth of the women were (at least where we were). There is also a naturist beach at the end where my wife and I went. We LOVED it. It was so freeing. If you are looking to get past body image issues that Americans are saddled with then do this. You learn that there are people with all shapes, sizes, and ages there and nobody judges. Also there are rentals of water craft. This beach has it all. I will go back as soon as I can. If you let it, this beach will allow you to be free and have fun.

Perfect beach all around. Family friendly + a nude section on the right side with great snorkeling.
Fantastic, quiet, safe, beautiful. Great snorkeling (only at the rocks in front of the nude section). This beach feels very French which was a nice twist. The restaurants had great French food and friendly people. Very classy beach. If you snorkel, the ONLY place where you’ll see fish is in the roped off section in front of the nude area. Fantastic snorkeling. Awesome day all around. I’ll be back.

A Experience that's truly in Paradise
From Philipsburg, We took a day trip to visit Orient Bay Beach. a $25 cab ride got us there in about 30 minutes. (arrange to have the cab pick you up at a designated time as there are no waiting cabs at a cab stand there) It is tucked away off the beaten path and very secluded. There is a nude portion that is segregated down the beach but we chose to not venture there. The water is warm, wonderful and has a sugar sand beach that has no sharp rocks or shells. You can walk out for 40 yards or so before you cease to touch. No need for water shoes. I want to give a special shout-out to the beach bar, Chez Leandra. we rented a beach umbrella there with 2 chairs for $20 (as you can do with several bars along the beach) The owner is Z, but we dealt with John and Natalie, fantastic hosts! The facility is well groomed and the inside is clean and neat. We ate a lunch of Garlic Conch and it was to die for! Fresh, savory and a little spicy it was everything I was looking for in a unique island experience. Natalie made for me her special (which should be world famous by the way) Bourbon sour. She made it by adding several ingredients and floated a half shot of bourbon on top. Trust me when I say a bourbon sour is my "go to" and I have never had one this good! Truly a 5-star experience.

    Great beach!
This is a big beautiful beach on the Atlantic Ocean side of the island. The water may not be as calm as other beaches. There is some sea grass. You rent chairs and umbrellas from the beach bars. We spent a delightful day on this beach.

Orient Bay Beach – Sun, Fun, Food and Drink
Orient Bay beach is a beach for everyone that has both a textile and clothing optional area. All along the beach there are many beachside dining accommodations to satisfy anyone’s desire. Many if not all of the restaurants have lounges and umbrellas available for rent in front of their palace. For those who are inclined for the all-over tan head to the southern part of the beach for the clothing optional area. It also has its own dining establishment and a great happy hour at 1:00pm in the afternoon. Lounges and umbrellas are available for $25 USD. Sand is great, the water is amazing and no trace of seaweed. The winds however were strong in the beginning of the week and then died down later in the week. Much stronger than the last time we were here. People were friendly and respectful. We met several couples and shared our experiences. Overall, an enjoyable experience and nice time on the beach.

The Best Day of our vacation!
Spent a wonderful day at Orient Beach~we chose our lounge chairs and umbrella at Orange Freeze and cannot say enough about how impressed we were with the service, drinks and food. We had one of their many specials, a chicken salad inside a pineapple which was light and delicious. It was all a 10! Great wiFi, bathrooms and shower all for $5 per person (as compared $15 p.p.elsewhere.) The staff was very pleasant~attentive but not pushy. It goes without saying that Orient Beach is perhaps the nicest beach on the island. Find the Orange Freeze beach establishment and enjoy!

    Beach Time
It's a great beach! Nice sand, few rocks, not crowded (by northeast US standards). Good for long walks, swims or water sports. Also plenty of bars and places to get a beach umbrella and lounge chair. Also a good selection of good restaurants in Orient Village or not far from Grand Case restaurants ts.

Love the beach, love the different beach clubs, but as I couldn't find a lot of recent information about the nude side, I thought I'd share some information others might find helpful. One of our main reasons for selecting Orient Beach was the nude beach, but we ended up not spending more than one day in this section. As we have come to expect, the people are amazingly friendly and open and inviting, but there were some things that made us just opt to go and enjoy the topless option at the other clubs. Reasons:

1. Beach loungers were not very comfortable. Plastic strapping chairs with no padding were very uncomfortable.
2. Perch Lite bar was cash only. With no ATM's in the area whatsoever, this wasn't ideal.
3. No table service, you had to trek up to the bar every time you wanted a drink or food. No idea if this is all the time, or because we were there for the beginning of the slow season, but no other clubs were self service.
4. The beach goers feed the fish which is great for viewing, but it also means that anything small and protruding is going to be considered fish food. I got bit and it drew blood. Swimming isn't much fun if you have to fend off hungry fish. Other swimmers told similar stories. This was NOT the case at other areas of the beach, where presumably, people don't feed the fish.
5. As we all know, nude beach-goers are usually on the older side (like us!) but this one seemed to have 85% of the patrons in their 70's, 80's and up. This is of course not a complaint, just pointing it out in case people are looking for people in their age group.

This review isn't meant to put anyone off, but help people make the decisions that are best for them.

The beach in front of the old Club Orient is still a nude beach. Umbrella and two beach chaises are for rent for $25.00 (US)/day, 0800 to 1700 hrs, by Club O Beach (see Facebook page). If you arrive early, just occupy a chaise, and Club O Beach personnel will come to collect and tag chaise. If you arrive later, see personnel sitting between beach and Perch Bar & Grill. The beach area feels safe because the Club O Beach personnel are looking over their chaises and umbrellas. The Perch Bar & Grill has been rebuilt with a larger, covered dining area than during the Club Orient days. Happy hour is between 1330 and 1430 hrs, two for one drink, they accept US currency. Disappointing is the old Club Orient. It is still in ruins after 2017 Hurricane Irma. No cleanup has been attempted, and the grounds are overgrown.

If it wasn't for the Seaweed, beach peddlers and horrible experience at Alamanda Resort... Would have been a great 2 weeks. Restaurants in Orient Bay village were very good except La Favela. Orange Fever was the best place to rent chairs and umbrella for $10 for 2 people and 6 beers for $15 USD.

Beautiful. Breath taking. Stunning. Even the aftermath of the hurricane wreckage——. We paused and left a shell on the memorial made. And there are beaches with and without tan lines. The on beach cafe was awesome. Happy hour at 1:30-2:30. They ring a bell. 🛎️

Such a special beach on such a special island. The view is gorgeous, great bars to enjoy along the sand. Best beach in St. Martin.

Probably the best soft sandy beach on the island. Great views out over the water and mountains. We went to the bikini beach restaurant and had nice tapas. Beach chair rental a bit pricey for $20 for 2 hours. Had a good time.

We visited Orient Beach in March 2024 and stayed at Orient Beach Hotel. Our review deals mainly with the Naturist aspect of Orient Beach. If this is offensive to you, don't waste your time reading our review.

We chose Orient Beach because of its nude beach and relaxed atmosphere on all other parts of the beach. Female toplessness is entirely accepted without question on all parts of Orient Beach. This holds true for all other beaches on the French side of St. Martin. We visited the other nude beaches and preferred Orient Beach because of the vibrant atmosphere of the area.

There are numerous places to rent chairs and umbrellas. Usually just near one of the various beach bars. Our beach chairs and umbrella were provided at no charge by Orient Beach Hotel.

Beach vendors are on the beach but were not an issue at all. Smile, be polite and courteous with your "no thank you".

The beach is extremely clean. In the early morning crews rake the beach and remove excess sargassum which was not abundant this time of the year. The water is so beautiful and there is a constant sea breeze.

You'll find the nude beach at the far south end of Orient Beach near the hurricane ruins of Club Orient and among yellow beach umbrellas and a nude beach bar named The Perch Bar & Grill. There were easily hundreds of nude sunbathers each day of our stay. If you walk further south from the yellow umbrellas around the ruins of Club Orient there is still more nude beach but just no umbrella vendors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Orient Beach. When not on the nude beach, Nautti felt completely comfortable while topless on the beach, lounging on the beach and frequenting the beach bars topless. You will encounter topless Ladies on all parts of the beach, and coming and going from the beach. The French culture and ambiance was refreshing.

Interesting point, the only "prudes" we encountered on Orient Beach were other American tourists. Unsolicited advice: Men, be sure and tell your significant other she'll be face-to-face with topless Ladies and nudists before you arrive on Orient Beach. We witnessed conflict among some couples, some women appeared shocked and very unhappy because they were obviously not informed about the nature of Orient Beach.

St. Maarten Orient Beach is the prettiest one on the island and a go to if you like the comfort and the beach bar service. Wide shore, white soft sand and shallow waters make it unforgettable. Moho/Mullet bay is nice, Philipsburg is cheaper, but the service at Orient Beach is incomparable. We lounged by the Wai Beach bar (two chairs and an umbrella $30), tasty food, great drinks, even better view, equals a perfect vacation. And if you are lucky to run into Merlya, make sure to try her massage, it’s worth every penny.

The water is beautiful but since the hurricane, the surf is extremely rocky and it was very disappointing compared from what we experienced before.
Club Orient is still totally closed and destroyed from the hurricane.

We visited this beach as part of a tour on Norwegian cruise line. It was called Beach Rendezvous. This beach is stunning! Beautiful white sand and blue water. Plenty of restaurants and bars that even offer beach service. Not too crowded. Perfect beach day location if you are visiting St. Martin!
