Such an experience!!! I don't mind the big waves along the way..All I remember was the unforgettable experience, swimming with the green turtles..We were lucky that our boatman Estat was also a registered guide in the island, so upon arrival we didn't waited long for the orientation.

When you are in this part of the world and are a diver, I guess Apo Island is a must-dive destination. But do not set expectations too high. When I was there in the beginning of February the Marine Sanctuary dive site, which is said to be the most beautiful around Apo Island, was still closed for diving as it... More

We stayed in Dauin Friday night and left for Apo Island early Saturday morning. Note: Make sure you're water-ready to and fro the island, since you're bound to get wet during the ride (it's super windy plus there are big waves along the way too). From Dauin to Zamboanguita (Mayatapay Market), it took us about 15-20mins trike ride. Roundtrip boat... More

How to arrive there: With the local bus from Dumaguete, the ride takes ~ 45 minute, to Zamboanguita. From the port, you can rent a boat - private or share. The small boat - good for 4 people costs 1500 pesos, a bigger boat - good for 6 costs 2500 pesos and the biggest boat available costs 4000 pesos and... More

We visited by taking a bus from Dumaguete (30mins) to Malatapay before getting a small boat for 2000 Pesos to Apo. Be warned it is a bumpy ride and you will get soaked! So put on your swimming costume and hold on tight. You will need to pay an admission fee of 100 Pesos and then you will be directed... More

Amazing experience with very helpful guides. The guides helped us go around the reef, spot the sea turtles, take our pictures and even towed us back to the boat when we were two spent to swim on our own!

Apo island is a complete joke. It is quite expensive to get there, stay there, rent snorkeling... And still you get some rude locals on your way. The marine reserve is just an excuse to charge this much. They do not respect the turtles nor the corals. If you dont pay the snorkeling guide (yes you read right) they will... More
