This place in Gwangyang is indeed beautiful especially during spring. It is famous for “maehwa” flowers. These white flowers bloom ahead of the pink cherry blossoms so, if you are excited and can’t wait for spring time and the pink flowers are still buds, go to this beautiful village. The flowers are literally everywhere as in anywhere you look, you can see them. Try visiting a plantation you can just sit by the grass and be surrounded by them. The trees aren’t that tall, you can really appreciate the flowers closely. As always during maehwa festival, or any other festivals in Korea, expect heavy traffic and many people. If you want to enjoy the flowers and the place try getting there early. Also, the village is not commercialized so better be prepared (food, bathrooms breaks etc.) esp. if you schedule your trip on dates that aren’t festival dates.

Beautiful scenery surrounding stunning flowering Maehwa (apricot flower) trees. It was worth sitting in very heavy traffic to see this beautiful area of Korea at blossom time.

Hi! Is there any hotel or hostel where we can stay for a night? We'll be coming from Busan with our luggage. We're planning to make a stop in Maehwa Village before going to Seoul. Our visit will be in late March 2019
