If you are looking for the a museum to visit in Andong, I strongly recommend Andong Folk Museum. Not only you’ll enjoy in the museum but also light displays on the bridge nearby. It’s easy to reach and just one bus away from the downtown.

I definitely recommend visiting this museum. It’s a treasure of Korean culture. A quick visit can take 30 minutes, but if you want to read all about Korean culture from life to death, I recommend dedicating at least 1 hour -1.5 hours for your visit.

Very inexpensive, entrance fee was only 1000₩. Parking is free.

This site is close to the folk village and the bridge. You can visit all three in the same day.

This is a small but charming museum worth a visit! There were three different exhibition halls when we visited each offering a different view on the cultural heritage of Andong. A long and interesting history of a beautiful region of Korea. Friendly staff, warm interior and budget friendly prices. Two thumbs up!

Unlike the next door Andong Village with old traditional houses, the Andong Folk Museum requires buying an inexpensive ticket. There is no good guide in English available but there is enough explanation next to each display with some information in English allowing non-Koreans to learn and orient themselves in the exhibits. The museum presents traditional Korean customs, beliefs and rituals from birth to death. It is quite informative but consists only of two floors. There is also a section with temporary exhibition. There is a large parking lot next to the museum and food is available nearby.

This small but informative museum gives an insight into Korean culture & traditions. Exhibits are clearly marked & most have an English translation. The exhibits cover living, working, age & cultural traditions.
There is an outdoor area of replica/moved traditional folk houses.
Both are worth a visits & slow wander along the river side

When you walk in, the museum doesn't exactly inspire you with confidence, but it offers a surprising comprising overview of traditional Korean life in the Andong area, from birth to death. Yes, the building and the exhibits look dated but for a pretty much non - existent entrance fee, the information panels (available in English) are very enlightening. We easily spent two hours here.

A very interesting museum with a chronological display of Korean history, culture and life. The very nice man at the end of our visit decorated a paper fan with Korean characters.
