Well worth a visit, some amazing aircraft on display, anyone remotely interested in aircraft should visit this venue. The aircraft information notices are not always easily found for the relevant aircraft or exhibit sometimes you have to go looking for them. Would be great to...More

Me and my girlfriend visited the American Air Museum on the same day as the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, 30 april 2017. I saw many legendary planes there too - the B-52D, the SR-71 Blackbird, which, alongside the U-2, are among my favourites. The...More

Getting up close and personal with a B52 isn't something I thought I would ever do, but here's the place to do it. Loads of other equally impressive aircraft, A10, SR71, DC3, F15, B25, B17, etc. etc.

Situated within the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. Lots of planes to see, with good posted information. We found the displays about different servicemen very interesting. There is a cafe in the building if you need a break.

How long is a good time to spend here? Main reason for visiting Cambridge is to visit the IWM Duxford for a Classic Wings flight. Is it possible to see both museums and do the flight in one day?

In my opinion you could do both. The American Museum could be visited in 2 hours, with the rest of your time devoted to the other museums/attractions. The advantage is there are cafes/toilets at both sites. I personally... More
