The golf course is good. The staff are polite and helpful. Prices reasonable. The cakes were lovely according to the grandchildren. The scone was a bit dry but the clotted cream lovely. BUT please those great big stones in the car park!!!! They take up lots of room and car park spaces! And dangerous....people were frightened their car doors were going to get damaged if the children jumped out in a hurry and banged the door against them!

We visited Scaling Dam and found this lovely cafe/pub/restaurant opposite. Apparently this building was known as the Bunch of Grapes, but since its demise it has been beautifully refurbished. The new owners are not yet ready to open it as a pub, but are running a fabulous cafe in the daytime. We actually went in for coffee and cakes, which were all very good and served in beautifully decorated surroundings. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and there is also a child's play area and a miniature golf course. Thoroughly recommended and can't wait for the pub to open.

Been here a few times now with groups I've brought to a local outdoor centre. The reservoir is great for sailing and wind surfing and the facilities are pretty good there too.
