Absolutely stunning place - I can't believe we missed it the first time we visited Starigrad. The palace is gorgeous, looks more like a palace than a castle from the outside. You get great views of the city and the water feature is very magical. You get given a little leaflets which explains a bit about the palace and its story and all for 20k (about £3). I would recommend going at sunset for the light…

This place is definitely worth a visit whilst you're in Stari Grad. Its garden is beautiful and very peaceful, especially the fish pond filled with mullet. There were also several different fruits growing in the well-presented gardens, including grapes, figs, limes and even pomegranates. It was wonderful soaking up the peaceful atmosphere for an hour or two.…

I loved the place. Petar Hektorović (the poet who built the mansion in the 16th century) knew what he was doing. It's got a lovely garden and the fish pond, and I found it quite relaxing to be there, sit down and enjoy.
