I would have never thought to stop at one of these, but glad our group did, because they are really amazing. They are quaint little walled church grounds, with gardens, cemetery, lots of statues, little buildings, a 100+ piece calvary and more. The amount of detail and color is eye popping. Very interesting and unique characters - everywhere you look.... More

Don't miss this church, a massive and beautiful example of Brittany's church closes - walled church compounds, originating from the 16th century. Particularly interesting are the big belfry constructed from 1573 as well as the large, elaborate calvary/crucifix and of course the ornate polychrome sculptures in the interior.

While it arguably seems to be overshadowed in reputation by its neighboring closes in Guimiliau and St Thegonnec, this was my personal favorite of the parish closes in the area. I thought the interior was very impressive and colorful, and it made for a good introduction to the style of architecture characteristic of the closes. Don't skip over this one!
