I was hesitant to go, thinking, "How exciting can a music museum be?" I have to admit I was completely wrong. I absolutely loved it and have been telling all my friends about it. The house and tour were magnificent. Jim Mousseau, the curator, did...More

It's definitely a quirky place. Mr. Brown was a very eccentric man with a lot of disposable income. The music boxes and instruments are really incredible especially the player ones. I can't even imagine the cost of upkeep. It's a fun place to visit, we...More

Please move this listing back to Pittsburgh!!! Having it in O'hara is like listing the Statue of Liberty outside of New York City because it's on Ellis Island. The Bayernhof is a major Pittsburgh aattraction!

The 2.5 hour home tour of eccentric Charles B. Brown, III's music museum was interesting and most entertaining! It has many levels and secret passageways within it's 19,000 square feet. Between seeing and hearing many small and large classic and unique music playing machines, of...More

Atop a high cliff with a breath-taking view overlooking the greater Pittsburgh area, the mansion reveals few of its surprises from the outside. Built by Charles Brown, a delightfully eccentric millionaire in the 1980's who employed not an architect, but an imaginative young teenager to...More

I can't say enough about this hidden gem of Pittsburgh. First, it's only $10, and it's the tour is over 2 and a half hours! It's a lot better than going to a movie for that price. It's really a three-in-one experience. You learn about...More
