The South loop is wheelchair accessible, the North loop is not wheelchair accessible. The North loop and Alice's Trail are joined and when done together is about 3.2 kilometres with a bit of backtracking. Easy flat hike with some roots to step over. Nicely maintained trail with little bridges across wet spots. Very peaceful with the birds chirping away.

There are 2 loops to this level trail which winds its way along a creek bed and through Douglas fir, marshy areas and deciduous forest. Bridges, benches, and wood carvings add to the interest along the way. Part of the south loop is wheelchair accessible. There’s a parking lot with pit toilets. A quiet place to walk on a rainy day.

A well maintained (accessible) trail . Bridges , chain saw folk art work , picnic table.
Safe place to stroll along and explore.

These trails are excellent for running, even with a jogging stroller. I have also biked it with a kid trailer attached. Amazing scenery that is extremely photogenic...a great find. Can't wait until the loops are connected

Well maintained trail, typical west coast forest - streams, ferns, a wood-pecker at a tree. Great for a dog walk or to get away from it all.

We spent an hour and 20 minutes today hiking the South Loop of the Lighthouse Regional Trail. It is amazingly well constructed and maintained and we enjoyed the hike. However, we chose to return to the parking area by doing the real 'loop', cutting up through Wilson's woodlot. We ended up hiking through some rougher trails - nothing that anyone in reasonable shape can't manage - through the forest and over bridges. Our only concern is that there is no real indication of where to turn and what to follow once you leave the wheelchair accessible portion of the trail. I think we ended up hiking a lot further on the rougher portion than the Regional District map indicated that we would, so we may have been off-track without knowing it. Anyhow, it was a great hike and highly recommended.

Love this trail, easy walking for those who want to wander through the woods but not necessarily hike. There are hiking offshoots for those that want more but this is a terrific walk.

This is one of the most beautiful trails that I have walked on the island. What I love most is knowing that people in a wheelchair can enjoy this trail from beginning to end. 2.5 km each way (or) you can walk back on a logging road. Will do this again for sure. Nature at its best!!!
