On a good day, travel and see the Sentry-a marvellous sculpture on top of a hill. Lough Arrow and Lough Key give marvellous views of the mountains. What a hidden gem is Castlebaldwin! You've drive through it before you know where you've been! ENJOY!

Very small village but nice all the same, only 15 minutes drive from Sligo town, and 20 minutes from carrick-on-shannon.

Step back in time as you walk through the castle and grounds. Quite lovely. Great background for pictures, beautiful setting along a creek/river. Spectacular step back in time to another era.

With the main Dublin-Sligo road (N4) running through the middle, it's hard for a village to appear attractive. Despite its limitations, Castlebaldwin does offer basic facilities for travellers : for example, there's a very good Filling-Station/Shop, with a fast-food outlet attached, and an O.K. pub...More

A typical small Irish town. I found the lack of crowds and surrounding countryside very appealing. It was a bit difficult to find a garage with an air pump open on Sunday
