This is on of the must sees when visiting this area of Germany. The dining room opens to give a fantastic alfresco view over the vineyards of the Rheingau. The staff are very accommodating and the food is very good.

This is a classic German schloss with wine history. Still a private quarter but lot of the area is open to public. Nice vies and a good tasting room. If visting by bicycle, take your time up the hill :) Kind of higher end prices and selling their own wine in their own restaurant at 100% more then in the... More

The vineyards are beautiful and the view from the restaurant is amazing. Other than that we were very disappointed. The food was average, not bad-not excellent. The service was slow, even by German standards, considering it was not crowded. The most disappointing was the wine shop. I had telephoned earlier inquiring about wine tasting and was told they were available... More

The Gutsschanke at the Schloss Johannisberg provides some fine dining with a magnificent view of the Rhine and vineyards. Located atop a hill at the castle, the restaurant serves German food and wine.

As many of people know, this schloss is the historical place for Spätlese. When you are walking around this schloss, you can find the statue and amazing view to Rhein river. Their vinyard is also wonderful to watch. It is totally free, so do not miss to visit here !

After the discovery of the vineyard, and the cellar, we had dinner with the great wine at the restaurant, overseeing the vallée and the Rhin river.

The castle is quite big and in good shape. Unfortunately you can walk around only, the inside is private and not accessible. Lucky guys who can call this their private property. On the left site is a chapel that is accessible. It's very old but not prosperous, though worth to see. On the right site there is the restaurant with... More

We went from Frankfurt and spent 5 hours with a tour of the vineyard, wine tasting, lunch, and shopping. We had a fantastic guide who took us around the vineyard and the cellars. The guide was very informative about history, the region, and wine making. He also led a wine tasting where we tried 3 different Rieslings. The Riesling produced... More

Schloss Johannisberg is a nice place for a relatively quick visit. The views are absolutely gorgeous, also from the terrace of the restaurant. The wines are of great quality. The place appears a bit touristic tough.
