The palace/castle of the bishop princes of Lidzbark Warminski has somehow survived more or less intact even though it is in the debatable lands between Russia, Poland and Prussia. It is a geaqt building and part of it is occupied by the Hotel Krasicki. Inside there are limited displays of weaponry and something of life under the bishops, but I... More

It is free on Tuesday to visit so we picked the right day . First go to the cold basement and see sculpture of Bachus and a wishing well . There is a jail there as part of private chapel . First floor is all about bishops and Copernicus who stayed there . If you like Christian stuff there's lots... More

Hotel connects traditions and modernity. Interiors (rooms, halls, restaurant) are beautiful and clean. I recommend rooms with view on moat or patio. Breakfast was diversified and tasty, including ordered individually omlet or scrumble eggs. Discreet service activity and helpful .

It's a good way to spend an hour or two in Lidzbark Warmiński. But you should take a guide to understand the history of this place and antiques inside. Beware that during the most important Polish national holidays the museum is closed. I think that for young children it can be boring. Some exhibitions are closed because of renovation work.

One year ago, I tried to have a coup of coffee outside the hotel, in the courtyard as I have seen a couple of guests sitting there. I was refused because actually "the guests of the manager are served there". I tried this year hoping that there are no more the manager´s guests or the manager was luckily fired. I... More

Castle is quite impressive building from outside and contains a museum inside. Visiting time about 1/2 hour, some items in museum were eye catching. Exploring the castle and small old town around it was a fun. So visiting this small city was right choice and I can suggest it to others.
