About
Welcome to the PPK, the perfect place for families to ski and ride! Opened in 1938, Pass Powderkeg is a delightful throwback to when a family ski day was all about big smiles and exploring, not upsells and lift lines. We are located in the beautiful Crowsnest Pass in SW Alberta, about 140 km from Lethbridge and just 230 km from Calgary. PPK a community-owned ski area, designed for skiers and riders of all ages and abilities where there's no need to hunt for parking, battle for space on the slopes or a trip to the bank to finance a family ski trip. Oh, and did we mention that we have Night Skiing & Snowboarding? Pure Magic.

We were greeted at the online ticket line by a friendly lady and we were quickly suited up with our rental snowboard equipment. As we were able to book everything online from our boot sizes to ability level it made things a breeze. Maps posted at the top of each T made it easy to pick out runs for my beginning daughter, The openness of the layout allowed me to tackle some more difficult terrain while keeping tabs on her. The cafeteria served large portions and we were satisfied with the selection of food. Great prices on and off the hill made for a great weekend. We will be returning.

Stopped in for a quick ski, raining and cloudy. Its a small set of hills but I had a good time. The locals were pleasant and the slopes were fun. Maybe 200 people on the whole hillside, easy to practice goofy stuff without anyone watching, lol.

Great staff, fantastic food. This little ski resort has everything you need. For authentic Canadian experience, skill the crowed in near by hills and give the pass Powderkeg a try. Affordable & fun sums it up. Their season pass is the most cost effective in Alberta and they are a non profit!

Did a little trail running here this past weekend, big smiles! Trails were in good condition despite the damp weather that has been hitting the area. Very quiet day as well. Nice to not have to deal with a lot of people on the trail. Clean and well signed.

Lucky enough to have the chance to ski this hill again before the end of the season. And as always I found runs that had been untouched and was able to find plenty of Powder for my to practice and fail at skiing that Powder. March 22-24th is the final weekend and maybe if I'm lucky enough again...I be able to try the Night Skiing they offer. Thanks to Katherine and her staff for keeping this gem up and running again this Season!

Very nice little ski hill. You can’t compare this hill to the big resorts, completely different experience, and a great day. T-bars are always fun to ride. Not busy, so lines were short and wait time was minimal. Recent snow made for great skiing as well. Season Pass was a good price and worth it. Staff were friendly too. Looking forward to checking out some night skiing in the future.

We had an ebike tour booked but had to cancel for health reasons. The person we dealt with was very pleasant and help us with our cancellation in a timely manner. Hope to rebook next year.

Thanks for including Pass Powdeekeg in your summer plans, even if it didn’t work out. We look forward to seeing you next summer, or even in the slopes this winter.

Like the slogan - "Surprise Yourself" - I was pleasantly surprised by Pass Powderkeg. It's bigger than it looks from the highway, with 24 runs (all levels, mostly intermediate) and a terrain park, and the t-bars go FAST! Paired with short/no lines, I was able to do several runs in a short time. I will be back with my family!
Great dining (new chef at the lodge) and ski school too. Oh and they have night skiing!!
