We had an extraordinary experience at the mine, 155m down. The tour was excellent and the tour guide exceptional. The feeling that you get is magical down there and the scene is really cinematic. Highly recommended!!!

Dear Vassilis, thanks for this great review! I am happy to hear you enjoyed your visit in the mine The tour guides with us really like what they do and they have a special place in their hearts reserved for the mine, which is something you offen notice on the guided tours. And I can agree with you: the mine... More

My boyfriend took me to visit at a very quiet time of year. We were lucky enough to be in a group of only five with our attentive tour guide. He was more than happy to translate to English also. Superb singing voice that echoed around the caves, sent shivers down my spine! Very cold down there, take extra layers. The 150m... More

Thanks so much for this great review! I'm glad to hear you had a wonderful underground experience in the Sala Silvermine. The winter season is not as busy as the busy summer season. But we are also happy to note that there is an increasing number of mine visitors in winter. Looking forward to seeing you here again soon. Regards... More

We spent an evening in the Mine Suite to celebrate my husband's birthday. The 155 meter tour was a real highlight, our guide was passionate and dedicated to the history and narrative of the mine. Our evening in the suite was even better, it was warm, full of charm and a bit of mystery. The only downside we found was... More

Many thanks for the nice review! I am so glad to hear that you had an overall positive experience with us. And yes, I agree: the mining area above ground in the evening can sometimes be somewhat "too calm". We often recommend our Mine Suite guests to enjoy a dinner downtown before going down to spend the night underground. But... More

What an excellent trip this was, travelling down to 155 metres beneath the earth with Joel. The fact abs sights are fascinating and with our guide singing old miners songs to demonstrate the echo, we had a wonderful time. The hotel room located at the bottom of the mine is a very tempting idea!

We thought this place was overhyped and doesn't have too high expectations, rather a nice over-the-day family outing from Stockholm. Instead it turned out to be a great visit where the area is child friendly and so is the the silver mine tour (155m tour). We had the tour with a infant of 3 months and a 4yrs old boy... More

This is a place to stop over and certainly visit to learn the life of the Silver Miners of times gone past. Not being able to do the times of the English Tour, we had to book on the Swedish Tour as we did not have time last year to visit as we were passing by. However, our Guide Michelle... More

A visit to the old silver mines in Sala is well worth it, going down to 150 m you are given a good idea of the life as a silver miner in days gone by. Even a possibility to spend a night in a "bedroom" down at this level.. although I admit this was not my "cup of tea".

Went to Sala Silvergruva without any expectations, left with a great sense of understanding and a feeling of money well spent. Went on the tour that takes you 155m down below the surface. It is cold. It is damp. Choose your outfit wisele! Great tour. Great guide. Well worth the fee. When you are finished there is a restaurant, an... More

Thanks for the great review! And I'm so glad to hear you were positively overwhelmed. You are perfectly right about the cold environment in the mine. On the 155-meter level we have around 2 degrees C, only. Hope to see you soon again! Regards Andreas Marketing Sala Silvermine More

This is an old silvermine from the 15th century and we went on the tour that took us 155 metres deep and it was a trip I could recommend. Very interesting to see how things worked a long time ago. Great guiding from Adam.

Being a Mining Enginner, I cannot avoid visiting mines, even in my spare time. Sala's Silvermine is definitely worth a visit. There are different types of visits, and since the opening times are not so extended, during off season, you should book the tickets beforehand. Suitable for kids. Besides the mine, you can visit the whole industrial complex and the... More
