Protected by the large rocks at the entrance, with an estuary and shells - makes this a perfect beach for families or couples - the view is magical and not to be missed.

Beautiful laid back place with stunning views, scenry and lots of activities. Sorry to leave after 3 days. Well worth going on a trip along the coast.

Fantastic beach. Beautiful sand, safe swimming for children, amazing at both low and high tide. Lots of short walks to look outs nearby. Pub, shop and camping ground over the road.

I cannot believe how stunning this beach is! I understand why its one of New Zealand's most loved beaches. I went swimming, kayaking and fishing here. Very picturesque.

I agree that a car is the only way to go. The Kiwi companies have worked well for us. If time allows, I recommend you spend time further north at Golden Bay...the east side has terrific access to the less crowded north... More
