Nice little town. It's tiny and charming, great for a walk after wine tasting. The cypress street leading to the town is picturesque

Lovely village, plenty of wine bars to taste wines produced in the souring area such as the famous sassicaia and Ornellaia and several other excellent wines less famous but worth it! Lot of restaurant serving local food. We really enjoyed Bolgheri and you will too.

Bolgheri is a beautiful village, surrounded by the walls and the castle a medieval looking place with lots of little crafts boutiques, touristy places and great wining and dining places. Well worth a visit!

I traveled to Bolgheri from Florence with a friend. My friend and I were very disappointed. We took a train from Florence to Bolgheri. The Bolgheri station is 7 km from Bolgheri with no means to travel to Bolgheri except a 90 min walk. The walk was fine - flat and scenic. However, very little to see and do in Bolgheri and then a 7 km walk back to the Bolgheri station. In addition, the Bolgheri station is closed on the weekends and we went on a Saturday. If you have a car and can drive to Bolgheri, probably worth a visit. If you are dependent on public transportation, it is a tough go.

Except the journey with the cypres allee nothing was worth to visit this village. We came during winter, so we had enough space to park the car - a walk through the whole village took about 15 minutes - if we would not take a break for lunch, it would be quite short pleasure. Except walls and main gate, there is nothing worth to visit.
Better spend your time in Montalcino, San Gimignano or Montepulciano if you are wine lover - there is much more excellent wineries to visit and much more interesting places.

Yet another very old, very quaint, very beautiful Tuscan village. Lots of lovely cafés and restaurants and a wonderful Ice-Cream cafe

Don't be put off by the location of the car park, below the town and next to the treatment works! Do watch out for the 19th C washing basins and water supply brought in after a devastating drought. The town, at the end of a short stretch of Roman road off the Via Aurelia appears as if it is still in the middle ages. A huge fortified gate protects it and inside the two main narrow streets are fairly narrow with even narrower alleyways connecting them. It sold cater for tourists as the town itself and its famous wines attract people form all over. Not all the wine is as expensive as some famous brands that attract several hundred Euros. there are superb ones at the 10+ mark. Wnader the streets and enjoy the atmosphere.

We made the short trip from Volterra to visit this charming 'borgo' and found it easily, and the bonus of finding parking quickly made our day. Bolgheri is a simple place to visit as it is so compact and once you are within the city walls the road takes visitors around in a circle - so it is very difficult to get lost. There are lots of restaurants/bars and of course plenty of places where one can buy the local, delicious, wine!

Charming, quaint Italian town with countless Incredible restaurant choices and several cute shops. Il Granaio has an outdoor patio space that looks like you're sitting high among the Italian Stone Pines - beautiful! We didn't eat there but we did eat at the Osteria Pizzeria and it was delicious, highly recommend! We shared the appetizer with ground pork on crusty bread, my husband had a steak (mouth watering!) and the kids a pizza -- all incredible! I was even able to order a glass of wine from the Batzella winery which we visited earlier in the day.

We have been several times already in Bolgheri. It is a very nice location. But on weekends or public holidays not possible to visit. Far to full. No parking places and very bad organized. The people working there are overloaded and often not polite. If you would like visit this location go very early or during working days. Sure the service might be missing, because not so many visitors expected: Except holiday season. By the way: it is very expensive for good food. The cheep foods sometimes are not to be recommended.
