When you google attractions near Palakkad, the first one that pops up is this attraction. So, when I was visiting Palakkad, I decided to visit this place. I should say that it was a bad decision, due to the following: 1. This is a very small encampment (not to be confused with a fort) and nothing more than that 2.... More

Test coconut outside the fort There is jail near it Look at the fish in river around the fort No charge for entrance

Tippu sulthan fort is situated in the heart of Palakkad town. This fort was constructed by Mysore king tippu sultan. this fort is now maintained by Archeological department. this monument is well preserved by the department.

Tippu's Fort at Palakkad is located in the middle of the town. Its open for all no charges for entry and photography. Visitors can walk through the top side of the fort and stay for sometime. the place is must visit if you are in palakkad or nearby. there is jail inside where freedom fighters were kept perhaps. must visit.

Well maintained fort in a reachable place. It is just a KM from the place we stayed in Palakkad. You will see turtles in the water ponds surrounding the entrance below the small bridge... You will get to see huge trees around the fort and it was windy when we visited.
