Overview
More
Only 3km away from the centre of Zabljak, Malo (Small) and Veliko (Big) Lakes merge into Crno (Black) Lake. This lake is specific for its dark blue shade of water, which often seems black, and the effect is created by the Lake's depth and the dense Durmitor pine forest surrounding it.

You can take a very nice walk around the lake, which takes approximately 1h (3.6km). In the summer, possibility to swim, the water is quite warm, in à very nice setting. Worth a visit !

Come here early in the morning, we were there at 8 30, to be sure you find parking. Be ready to pay 3 euro per person tax and 2 for parking. Walk 750 m for a breathtaking view. There are two lakes, the big one...More

If you are visiting Durmitor, and intend to do some hiking, you will see the Black Lake. It is a beautiful lake with a nice backdrop, but the real beauty will appear once you start ascending the mountains behind the lake.

I was there yesterday and spent 2 hours at this gorgeous piece of art crafted by the nature. Swimming in it is refreshing and rejuvenating. You can't miss the black lake when you visit Montenegro.

We've been twice to the Black lake on our way to different hikes in the Durmitor national parks. We loved to start and finish our hike at the lake, drinking coffee or beer (though the cappuccino is bad in the coffee house near the lake)....More

Durmitor national park is huge and the black lake is a good place to start for amateur unfit hikers like my husband and myself. The first view of the lake with mountains in the backdrop is quite beautiful. One can walk around the big and...More

We stayed in Zabljak and the black lake is within walking distance (about 25 min walk). You will need to pay a park entrance fee (about 3 euros for the day each) but well worth it. The main walk down is popular - to get...More

A little walk through the woods brings you to the lake. It is so wonderful - loads of different colours and with the mountains in the background it really is magical. They say the best thing to do is get a boat and go onto...More

It takes quite some time to walk a full circumference of the lake. The views to be enjoyed are really spectacular (if someone likes mountains). Additional plus - only few tourists decide to take the tour, so it can be enjoyed in tranquility.

Best in the early morning with no wind in order to get spectacular photos of the mountains reflecting on the lake. The restaurant had not yet opened by the time we departed at noon.
