Arriving in Blatten (Lötschental) by public Postauto it is a good thing to start the tour by visiting the "newly" built church (1984), then take the way of reflection (Besinnungsweg) up to the small river, admiring all the little details in this typical mountain village....More

No shops, no mass tourism, almost no n nothing... we shouldn't make too much advertisement for such a fantastic place! Beautiful valley, some nice hikes (Ahnenhutte is nice, Lotschenbergpasshutte is a beautiful day hike) and time to relax... perfect!

We booked a private vacation home through Air B'nB, and were really just looking for a cheaper alternative to Interlaken. This was infinitely superior! An unspoiled Alpen hiking area like you envision in your dreams.

Excellent area to get away from civilization. Valley is ringed by snow capped mountains on all four sides. Lots of little trails to walk between tiny towns. Great way to time travel.

Fabulous place for ski-ing. Beautiful wide pistes for all levels, and well maintained. A variety of restaurants and places to stay. Quiet at night. Not many places in Switzerland with so few people. Worth a visit!

Hidden gem in Switzerland, lovely walks for all, but literally all levels. I took short and easy walks with the youngest kids (0 and 4 years old) on ancient and beautifull valley paths, my husband took the older ones on longer walks, and still had...More
