- Fred G116 contributionsGood few hoursWe visited the military museum during a recent holiday to Weybourne. We thought the entrance fee was a little high intitially at £12 each, but the place was a lot bigger than we thought, and was packed with exhibits and information. We spent 2 hours there, but could easily have spent longer. We didn't use the cafe, but it looked great, also the well stocked and reasonably priced gift shop. We even bumped into Drew Pritchard from Salvage Hunters, who were filming there! Great place, and worth every penny.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten September 19, 2023
- Grant F50 contributionsFantastic day out!The museum is fantastic but give yourself a day cos theres that much to see and see n do! The restaurant is great, great quality and quantity. I was lucky enough to have been a tank drive which was amazing and Id recommend it to anyone!Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten October 9, 2023
- LouiseStafford, United Kingdom52 contributionsWorth an hour or 2 on a wet dayLots of information boards and quite an impressive amount of vehicles for a relatively small site as well as model ships and other displays. Lost a star though as all displays were static. We thought good value for money though still, especially on a wet day.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten October 13, 2023
- TinylittlepeaBlackpool, United Kingdom75 contributionsFantastic VisitWell worth a visit if you’re in the area. Lots too see. Friendly staff. Nice cafe. Reasonable prices. Packed full of vehicles (Tanks etc). Give it a visitVisited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten November 4, 2023
- dessert queen2 contributionsDay outBeen meaning to go ever since I moved to Norfolk. Finally found the time last summer and glad I did. A great experience and very informative. Went on the tour in the jeep. Not for anyone with a bad back as it was bumpy but I loved it.Visited July 2023Travelled soloWritten January 4, 2024
- TheTaylorFamilyx5Sittingbourne, United Kingdom50 contributionsHistory lesson in pretty surroundings2nd visit for us, we enjoy looking around the masses of displays, you can spend as long as you like. We had a nice meal in the cafe (which could do with some heating...but it was a cold and windy day). The meal was lovely, jacket spud was served with a nice salad and a smile. Or you can take a picnic, the views are nice and there is seating. Perfect place to visit if you like museums and history.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten April 6, 2024
- Wendy Mason13 contributionsInformative, well maintained, unrushedI visited with a person who has been to many very large military museums in different countries and Muckleburgh did not disappoint, it was packed full, well maintained and laid out. The cafe was a joy half way around. Great visit. Thank you.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten April 10, 2024
- wardsterIpswich, United Kingdom128 contributionsLots of exhibits of military equipment from many periods of historyIf you are into your military hardware you will enjoy spending a couple of hours here. Lots of displays including tanks, hand held weapons, anti aircraft guns and historical exhibitions. It includes a cafe and a shop and the entry fee is reasonable. The shop is targeted at children and I would have preferred a few more adult items to buy such as kits, but it’s a minor point.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten June 12, 2024
- Antony JBlackpool, United Kingdom61 contributionsWell worth spending a couple of hours walking around.Visited on a short holiday on the way to Yarmouth and was very surprised at the amount of exhibits from gun and bullet shells to main battle tanks from various armies. It was very easy to spend a couple of hours looking at everything on show. It was amazing to see how large some of the artillery pieces were. A must visit if you enjoy military memorabilia.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten June 15, 2024
- Kev A32 contributionsBrilliantSecond visit to this museum and it never disappoints. Fantastic private collection of military vehicles and artillery. Very informative displays. Lovely food in the cafe. I thoroughly recommend a visit here, I will definitely come again when in the area.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten June 15, 2024

Visited this week wanting to support the museum during the pandemic. We stood for a number of minutes outside in the wind and rain to get in and pay. Once paid, there were further queues to enter the collection which was suffering from real pinch points with simply no room to move around the person in front.
We shuffled round for about one hour and left.
There is no prebooking scheme as with so many other attractions and frankly the place was overcrowded. The museum has some splendid exhibits but jostling for space to try and view made the whole visit miserable.
Perhaps don't visit on a wet day!

Huge collection. With so many tanks you would have thought that at least one would have been available for kids to climb into/onto; especially since the entry price was so high. Instead there were signs saying "do not touch", "do not climb" on absolutely everything. This was a great disappointment as we have been to another tank/war museum in Suffolk where children had access to several vehicles and had so much fun that we were keen to see this one as well. So, there was obvious disappointment. £40 for less than an hour walking round (we walked slowly and looked at everything). Children are not going to stand there and look at things for three hours. There was also an advert mentioning rides in military vehicles, but no such thing was available when we went (Sunday mid-day). In fact there was hardly anyone there. Several dogs were locked in a kennel at the back and they were barking like mad and looked distressed. Can't imagine we shall go back.

Most visitors take up to three hours to read and see everything in the museum. For their personal safety visitors are not allowed to climb on exhibits that are unsupervised by our staff.
Our staff is at risk from COVID-19 so Military Lorry Rides and Tank Demonstrations have been suspended so as to reduce contact with visitors. This information is given on our website, on telephone announcements and by notices before entry to the museum. We intend to resume these activities when the pandemic is under control.
Dogs are not allowed in the Museum so some visitors appreciate the provision of dog kennels and it is natural for dogs to bark sometimes.

This is a beautiful location with lots to see, my partner and son absolutely loved it, the staff very polite an attentive. The cafe is a bit expensive but the food was worth every penny, there is good indoor seating or grassed area with beautiful views. It was good to see such a collection of vehicles together the only disappointment was that space was clearly an issue as you are unable to walk round some of the tank collection and there are no facility to view from higher level to see vehicles from above or inside which was a great shame as this would have enhanced the experience and would definitely encourage us to visit again. There is clear grounds to expand so it would definitely be one to watch out for in future. There is plenty of parking and toilet facilities are clean.

This was our second visit to the museum, the first being some years ago. We thought we had been impressed with it before, but were left wondering whether our memory was playing tricks on us. The collection was OK but compared to other similar museums it was a tad expensive and the exhibits not so well presented or explained. In some halls there seemed no logic to the order of artefacts. There were too many "keep off" signs, which gave it an unwelcoming feel. I am not suggesting people be allowed to climb on the tanks etc. but one or two general signs should be sufficient to get the message across.

This museum is a must if you like anything military, there are lots of things to see here and it also tells the story of the area's history from days of old to more recent times. The site has a good car park and is also disable friendly and toilets are good and clean. There's a good cafe on site and highly recommended. There are cooked foods to cold snacks, the tea and coffee are excellent and the cakes are wonderful. The collection as large from small things to large tanks so you will easily spent 2 to 3 hours going around the collection. This is a wonderfull place to visit.

Took my toddler here on a family holiday last summer. He loved it so much, he mentions it pretty much every day. He has been begging to go back, I told him once “everyone stopped having a cold and it was allowed to open” we would. Every day he has been asking if today was the day. That’s how good this place is!
So earlier this week today was the day, and we made a 4 hour round trip to visit, and wow it was still worth it.
There is so much to see here, along with information for older ones and adults. We walked round the entire museum 3 times, and my son also enjoyed the play area. We didn’t use the cafe ourselves but it was open during our visit. The toilets were clean. They had a one way system in place (it was already there to begin with) and the place is so spacious I did not feel uncomfortable at all Covid wise. The staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful.
I was pleased to find some nice sticker books in the gift shop as we struggled for something age appropriate in there last time. If I could make any suggestion, if would be to please stock some little army related bits for tiny ones in the gift shop (eg little die cast tanks?).
He’s already asking when we can visit again! So I guess we’ll see you soon...

Went to visit this morning and had a lovely time. The collection is brilliant - something for everyone for sure. The main attractions are the huge numbers of tanks of all kinds, but they also have lots of local exhibits from the World Wars, and models of all kinds of ships, tanks, etc. Enjoyed from 3 years to 60!
Ample parking, lots of toilets, friendly staff, indoor and outdoor eating. There is tape every 2m to keep groups apart and lots of hand sanitiser. Some things are closed - I think normally you can climb into some of the tanks or even go for a ride in one.

Came across this place by accident as we were just driving past, and Wow extremely good collect of military nostalgia, worth the price of £12 to get in , pity the rides where off because of covid . The displays were fantastic, some excellent models and large displays. Some great old uniforms and a fantastic cap badge collection, good collection of large vehicles and tanks. The only downside was the glass cabinets need a good clean which spoilt some of the viewing. Would definitely go again if I was in the area again.

Been wanting to visit here for some time, worth the wait.
Not nearly as big as Bovington but it does a very good job for a private collection. One thing it did have was a V1 flying bomb on display as you drive in not even Duxford has one set up like that, don't know if it's a replica but still impressive.
Staff very friendly and easy to talk to.
The non armored collection is brilliant, medals, regimental badges, uniforms and historic information.
They have a fair bit of after ww2 armored vehicles as well as ww1 and ww2.
The models on display are superb includes naval, airforce and ground set ups. Make sure you see the mock up of the no mans land ww1, it's not that large but the detail is spot on.
Restaurant on site you can eat in or go outside into a pleasant grassy area with bench tables and look at the sea, we had a nice hot chocolate and carrot cake.
All social distances are in operation and we felt safe, although some people find it hard to follow instructions.
Plenty of room to park free, there are also kennels outside for your four legged friend.
Overall a nice couple of hours.

Me and my family visited whilst holidaying in Norfolk and are so happy that we did! It was one of the highlights of our trip.
Every tank/lorry/vehicle had a standing sign with information such as weight, range etc which we loved as it made you really give thought to their sizes! The museum is set out in a one way system, which is great because there's enough room to keep away from other people.
Toilets were very clean, there's 2 (by the entrance and then by the cafe). Cafe itself was lovely and my dad ordered the apple pie, which was huge! It came in a fancy pasta bowl it was so big. Mum ordered lasagne and chips with salad. They had cakes and soups too, which a drinks fridge.
We were in the museum for maybe 3 hours, including the break in the cafe but you could easily spend longer. The history of the place is amazing. Loads of parking and easily marked from the road.
The only downside was the shop, which was half empty and needed to be re-stocked.

Handsets are not used nowadays. Muckleburgh asks visitors to use their smart phones as many of the displays have vidos and commentry that can be accessed via the QR codes displayed on the descripton panels.

I wasn't aware of any handsets. To be fair they weren't needed. You can get a printed guide.
