About
Bodega Benegas embodies Mendoza’s passion for history and tradition. The building is an historical landmark of Mendoza, built in 1901 by Agustin Álvarez, former Governor of Mendoza. Federico Benegas Lynch bought it in 1999, and made a 5 years restoration, keeping its original design, including the adobe walls and concrete pools, and adding state -of-the-art technology. Surrounded by vineyards, and located in a privileged area of Mendoza, the winery preserves tradition and expresses the Benegas Family’s passion for excellence in wines. Visits to the winery including wine tasting are available. Booking in advance is recommended.

The place is beautiful, all the old construction gives the place a wonderful atmosphere.
Our guide was wonderful, now I don't remember his name, his passion for the bodega, history and wines made us feel welcome.
The way the guide conducted the tasting made everything perfect, how he explained how to identify the notes, the peculiarities of each grape, how the grapes demonstrate what they went through during cultivation was divine.
It was wonderful, the best wine tasting we did in Mendoza and believe me, we did several.

This is a boutique high end winery with small production. We thought the wines were really excellent - we have been to hundreds of wineries and this is in the top ten. Also, we loved the winery, tasting room and ambience. This is NOT low end wines. We tried multiple wines and they were all great- which is unusual, and then some will knock your socks off!

Very interesting guided tour of the wine making process together with the history of its beginnings.
Our tour guide Adriana has “raised the bar” with regard to her attention to detail and interest in our reasons for visiting this winery, and the pace was comfortable.

We just happened upon Bodega Benegas because we were staying down the street but we are so glad we called to book at tour. Our guide Juliana gave a great history and overview of the Bodega family and the facility. The tour was small and personalized with just one other couple and we wandered through the refurbished old winery, ending with a tasting in the cellar in a tastefully decorated old wine vat. We loved the collection of ponchos hanging like tapestries around the bodega. Juliana was knowledgeable and very friendly. What a great experience!

We visited Bodega Benegas in early December. Probably the best wine tour I've experienced. Franco was our guide; although new to the winery, he has been in the business for a long time. His narration of the story behind the winery, one of the first in the Mendoza region, was excellent and gave a full picture of the challenges overcome to build and maintain a successful winery in a desert region. The tasting experience, in the beautiful cellars, was expertly guided, and the wines, though a bit pricey, were very good. Don't miss a peek into the owner's "living/dining room"(he still lives on the premises). Well worth investing a half a day.

As a change from visits to other wineries, located in true modern architectural monuments, the visit to Benegas allows you to take a look at the winemaking tradition of Mendoza. In addition to the beautiful facilities, still used by the owner family, there is equipment that was used in the early days of viticulture in the region. All this without compromising the high quality of the wines offered at the tasting and the politeness and kindness at the reception.

Incredible tour guided by Claudio. Super entertaining, a tasting by candlelight, surrounded by friends, good stories and the best wines! The winery itself, separate chapter. I recommend you visit and learn the history! Health!

Visiting Benegas Winery ... it is right on the road, so to speak, compared to others where the winery is tucked away far off the main road, surrounded by vineyards. This winery is on the main road. First impressions just from the looks can be very deceiving.
A relatively very small winery, producing 300K bottles.
They make quality, premium wines the old-fashioned way. And boy, are they excellent!!!
The guide was excellent, with a excellent command of English, the winery, and on the wine making process.
Was blown away by the wines!!!

I was lucky to be added last minute to a group visit and wine tasting (thanks again for accommodating) and turned out to be the most amazing experience. Claudio was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and wine making, but most importantly passionated! His stories were extremely entertaining and we all left satisfied.
Make sure you try their cab franc and bring a jacket as it gets very cold in the cellar!

The winery is beautiful. The excursion was very organized. We took the tour with Claudio. The best sommelier I have ever met! Kind, funny, providing mega useful information. The wine tasting was the best I have ever experienced. And the wines, delicious. 100% recommended to go!
