We stayed at a small guesthouse by the lake. The sun came out early in the morning and it’s pleasant to take stroll by lakeside. Comparing to Lake Kawaguchiko, Lake Yamanakako is quieter which offers a more relaxed environment to the visitors yet there are...More

The lake is a lovely lake but the volcano that is it's backdrop is dynamic. Mount Fuji brings you and if you're off season you can't fish,

Lake Yamanaka is a large lake at the foot of Mount Fuji. It has a road that runs along the northern side of the lake with hotels, resorts and some stores. There are swan shaped paddle boats available during the warmer months. Further along, swans...More

We chose to visit Lake Yamanaka instead of the more touristy Lake Kawaguchi hoping to catch a glimpse of Mt Fuji. However, we didn't have such luck as it was raining the 2 days we were there. The lake is tranquil and you could take...More

Yamanaka Lake, one among five large lakes surrounding the Fuji mountain. Unfortunately, when I visited this place, it was raining hard, so it was not possible to see the Mount Fuji at the distance. Even so, this place is beautiful and the coast of this...More

Very nice natural setting that appears to be purposely kept more "outdoorsy" or natural than Lake Kawaguchi which we also visited. We like this area better and it was easy to go to the Lake Kawaguchi/Kawaguchiko City area for more "urban" activities.
