Rusutsu resort is very good snow quality in hoikkaido and west mountain, east mountain and Isola mountain all can connected with gondola and lifts. Mountain Isola is famous for multiple runs with intermediate to advanced level slopes. This is a very good area as it is not so windy compared to niseko and you can enjoy good visibility with dry... This was our second time here and although during our stay heard comments about low snow and tracked out, this again was not our experience. 90% untracked everyday usually at least boot deep a third knee deep and two days of thigh deep. The youngest was a very competent 9year old on his first tree skiing adventure he coped easily... More

Not a massive resort but the snow and the tree skiing makes up for it! Great lift infrastructure and not too crowded.

Great place to ski or snowboard. It was not crowded at all and the snow is groomed nicely. Will go again.

We came here as part of the guided snowboarding trip that explored multiple resorts. We visited Niseko, Rusutsu and Kiroro. Rusutsu is a wonderful, authentic Japanese, resort, with great groomed and off piste runs. The Rusutsu Ski and Snowboard school provided the resort guides to take us through the resort and the experience has been wonderful. English speaking guides (actually... More

On a clear day at the top of Mt Isola, we had excellent views of Mt Yotei and the surroundings. The slopes were wide and not too steep, great for intermediate boarders. Less crowds as well. If intending to ski Isola, you will need to plan your route and time, as there is only 1 access point out of the mountain... More

We stayed at a nearby rented chalet and skied at Rusutsu resort. The resort has loads of activities suited for the entire family. My 3 year old loved the indoor merry-go-round and the monorail that connects rusutsu resort and Westin. The older kids loved the snowmobile and snow shoe walks available at Westin. In terms of skiing we found it... More

Went there with my family to spend the New Year's Eve weekend. We all had such amazing time at Rusutu Resort. Hotel room: We were staying at the penthouse of the North Tower which has decent amenities/cafe/restaurant but not as much as the South tower or Westin hotel. But we actually liked our room and the location because it was... More

Fantastic skiing & snowboarding without lines! We skied for a week between Christmas an New Year's with fresh power almost every day (Rusutsu gets over 12 meters of snow a season!). There was a good mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert slopes. The advanced members of our group loved skiing in the powder "off trail" between the trees. Great mix... More

Well groomed ski slopes, attentive lift staff, lots of trails to choose from. We all had a good time. Pity the magic carpets were reserved for the kiddy Crayon ski school that conducted classes in Japanese only.
