    Great!
Deborah, the owner, gave me a personal tour and was very friendly. The bookstore is actually built right at the entrance of an old silver mine shaft with unique architecture. Wonderful to find a traditional bookstore to spend time browsing. Thanks Deborah!

A Book Store Gem of the North
Here is another reason why I must return to Cobalt. This bookstore is a central hub for visitors and the community. Here you'll find books of every genre, both new and old. The best part about the shop are the books about local stories, by local authors. They can be of the area, the province or Canada wide. Many of the books were salvaged from the Highway Bookshop. White Mountain Books support local authors and gives them a place to sell their books. It's the perfect place to dig up some local history. On top of all that, you may be treated to an unprompted tour of the building! Beneath your feet are miles of mine shafts and interesting history. I bought 4 books and I can't wait to return!

    A Gem of a Shop
A gem of a shop in the heart of historic Cobalt. The proprietor loves her job and it shows. Her enthusiasm for the area's mining heritage is infectious. Did you know that the store is in a former headframe? One that has seen multiple uses over the years, including a grocery store. Then, the owner used the cold air from the mine shaft to keep his meat refrigerated. Clever! White Mountain offers both gently used books as well as a broad selection of works by local authors. By far the best resource for history buffs. Also available are souvenirs, including a series of puzzles produced by the Cobalt Historical Society.

I could listen to this woman lecture about Cobalt and history for hours. The building itself is a treasure and we got a mini tour.
When my friends and I left we were all in awe. 10/10 will visit again.

The cutest little book shop! The owner is incredible and will stop what she is doing to walk you through all of the sections, answer any questions and she offers great prices too! Highly recommended spot to visit and spend the afternoon.

I arrived on an icy winters day and went to the one of two establishments that were open. I was greeted with a warm atmosphere and greeting from the owner. Given a tour of the store offerings, with some very interesting local history published by the owner. I left with a bagful and will return in summer when I have more time.

On a beautiful summer day, my daughter, my grand daughter and myself stopped in to this interesting book store. We had a wonderful look around and purchased a book for my grand daughter and one for my son. There is an interesting selection of books to choose from and the owner is both helpful and knowledgeable

A great little book store with many books and publications by locals and often on northern Ontario subject matter. There's books available by larger publishing companies on a variety of subjects, but unfortunately we didn't have time to look through them too and just concentrated on local publications. Its definitely a friendly and welcoming place to drop by to find something of interest.

Stopped in during a cold rainy day while I was camping, the owner gave me a tour and the history of the building, picked up a few books, it's now become a ritual to come here every time I'm up this way camping, always leave with a few interesting books and a new story or two from Deborah
