When you are in Tranquebar, you should visit this Danish Fort. It is right on the beach. Entry ticket is Rs 10. You will love the history of it.

The major attraction of Tranquebar from the old town itself is the Danish fort which was a trading post of Denmark. The fort has been maintained well and the museum inside is quite informative. It is worth a visit as the museum throws light on life in the early days of the British rule

It is 250 year old danish fort. It has a museum and some nice walkways. The view of the sea and the shore from the fort is nice and expansive. It has a old letter of lease from the indian king and another letter from the british to the danish about purchasing this place. Some nice antique artefacts in the... More

It's a surprise factor on the way from Karaikudi to Poompuhar. We were not aware of this place before. But it's a visit which is worth. The fort is maintained very well.

Almost ruins of fort dates back to 14th century, formerly Tranquebar. it means "place of the singing waves" in local language "Tamil". Its a beach fort, and its scenic and good to swim. Local fishermen offers trips to sea in their local vessel 'catamaran' - ancient tradition of fishing 2000 year long.

This is a 19th century fort built by the Dutch who had ruled this part of the country. More than the architecture, the location of the fort gets more marks

A fabulous old Danish Fort on Tharangambadi is worth visiting. It was built by the Thanjavur King Raghunath Nayak and acted as the base of the Danish settlement in the 17th century AD. A must visit if you are in Pondicherry or even in Tranquebar. Do take time out to see the other old bungalows in the city.

A nice place for kinds to run around and get a good workout. For the price, it was very reasonable. However, nothing major to see.
