A good base for attempting a climb to the Summit of Asahidake. The Onsen is very relaxing, and there are some local hiking trails as well.

Onsen had many different waters but nothing compared to Noboribetsu. Because the hike up Kurodake Sounkyo is so amazing, it's totally worth coming here.

We stayed 2 nights, 10 & 11 June at Asahidake onsen Yumoto Yukomansou. It was lovely. The exterior may looked tired, but it exudes old charm. Service from the staff was good and prompt. We only managed to try the "older" onsen as the other...More

Highly recommended onsen with beautiful outdoor view. Rocks and greenery while bathing in the steamy sulfur bath as a bird graces in front of you. Very clean and well kept.

Unlike more famous Onsens that sport towns dedicated to stripping tourists from their money, this area is refreshingly under-developed. The primary activities are enjoying nature. Not for everyone, some people might be bored.

We stayed at a hotel which offer outdoor Onsen. Superb snow scape view while bathing.
