If you have been to Jiujaigou, this is nothing. The pond reflects, yes, but there are numerous of such at Jiujaigou, China, with different feelings in four season. But just one pond here, and the reflection of the bare tree branches aren't very great. Lots...More

On the day we visited the weather was rather cloudy, so the water didn't really look that blue.. I think it's best to visit on a very sunny day if you can!

Accidental tourist spot. Did not see my well-travelled friends visited this place ever. But I read it off many locals' recommendation and seems a popular place among Japanese and of now, the busloads of tourists. I personally Color and how instagrammable this place is! Beware...More

Came here almost coming to 5 in the afternoon. The car park to the blue was around 4-5mins of walk. It was packed with tourists. It was a cloudy day but still can see the blue pond clearly. Just be careful of the flies flying...More

An early start (we got there before 9am) will provide a great photo opportunity. The blue hues were simply breathtakingly. For insect enthusiasts, there is a variety of smaller critters which could be digitally captured with a handphone without the use of macro lens.

This was along the way after Farm Tomita. Unusual green or blue colored pond depending on the time of the day. There is a small walk way filled with people by the time we get there around noon. You have to park your car near...More

This was the highlight of the Biei View Bus tour and it was worth it. It's more beautiful than the pictures when you see it in person. A short 10-15 minute walk is required from the parking areas on either side, but the view is...More

This pond is really beautiful with its unique landscape. Basically it takes you about 10mins walking distance from the bus stop. All you need at most is around 30mins to explore this pond and take as many pictures as you like.

I rented an electric assisted bicycle from Biei and took about 2 hours to ride here. It was upslope all the way but the electric assistance made it feel like riding on even ground. The lake was scenic and if you walk down all the...More

Blue Pond is one of the main attractions in Biei. It is pretty scenic. The pond area is not that big. At the right angle, you get a very nice view. The whole area is peaceful and nice. What's interesting is that the color of...More

It's better to go to Biei first to visit the Blue Pond. Then to Furano as there's more to see at Furano besides Tomita Farm. So the balance of your time after Biei will decide how much to cover in Furano. Check google map... More

It would be very snowy. If you are comfortable driving in winding, frozen, snowy road on the opposite side( driving seat opposite, blinker and wiper opposite from the US), rent a car from Sapporo. If it is snowed heavily... More
