Even though it require 3 hours JR from Wakayama plus 20min bus to the Temple, but I still recommend you to getting off from the "大門坂Daimon-zaka" bus stop, because it could make you enjoy the full refreshing soul journey, go through the ancient mountain route, it's worth!

It is more the serene setting, after trekking the Kumano Kodo, than the waterfall itself that I found attractive (seen one, seen them all). The path leading up to the site is nice, with mossy trees all around. You can pay extra to walk up to a viewing platform, but I found that a waste.

Amazing view of the waterfall. You can relax and enjoy the sound of it. There are some shops nearby and toilet is available. Bus-stop is nearby too if you are not hiking the trail.

133 meter height if you visit Wakayama why not here. Good to drive there than public transport (unless you have time). Many points to take good photos. Why not spend few donations for some good wishes.

It's a nice falls to visit. The water tastes refreshing. There is an entrance fee of 300 yen and you need to pay 100 yen for drinking through a ceramic bowl. Bringing your own bottle is also a good idea.

Learnt that this was the tallest fall in Japan. This is a relatively small fall as compared to many others that I have visited in other countries. If you are there just for the fall, didn't find the trip worthwhile. No one is allowed to go too near the fall. However combing the fall with the visit of the village... More

Breathtakingly beautiful setting. It's a east]y drive or an invigorating walk but well worth the visit.

Much more than just a waterfall, since ancient times it has been viewed as an important deity and therefore has important cultural significance in Japan. It should be approached with respect and an open mind. Said to have mystical powers, we in fact saw a few remarkable things here.

I travelled to Japan with tour group in 2014 and I had so much “first time” in the trip. That was my first time travel with my family and also my first time visit Japan. I was excited before this trip since I like Japan very much. We went to Wakayama and Osaka and Nachi Otaki was one of our... More
