A nice museum to visit, but not a must visit like Chichu Art Museum. We also had a relaxing lunch at the museum restaurant, which served decent food.

Great museum, well laid out in this specially designed building set into the hillside with superb views from the cafe. Attached to the hotel and with its own restaurant included. The plan of the 3 storey building is easy to follow with around 30 or...More

It was a more traditional gallery than Chichu and had works from many artists, both Japanese and international. Benesse house also has a number of outside installations, in the gardens and beach outside. Totally loved my visit.

There's great art to be appreciated here and there's hotel for those who wish to spend time at the island. Tadao Ando's architecture for architecture buffs.

Ate wonderful Japanese dinner here, so we got to wonder around after hours - interesting pieces to be savored in a lovely setting!

30 minutes is sufficient. There is no information available in English that provides any information on the works. The museum is on a hill and has a nice view of the sea. I could not get excited about the architecture of the building.

I was disappointed that the widely advertised, shown in brochures oval room is not accessible to mere mortals: you have to be a guest of the associated hotel, and be staying in one of the $900+/night rooms, it seems. However, the rest of the museum...More
