Got stranded in Sorrento for a few days and decided to go exploring. On my walk up to the brewery (a bit of a trek from town on foot), the brewery's delivery driver stopped and offered me a ride. Was able to talk to some of the staff, learn a little about the brewery and the farm, and buy a nice variety of brews to take back to the motel. Absolutely amazing staff, really good European style brews with a crafty local twist, and could not have been happier with my entire experience. After spending a half hour with the staff at the brewery, the driver took me back into town on his way to another delivery. Incredibly generous and serendipitous. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting.

Bizarre art exhibits, infused with Irish Folklore while using some 17th-century farming techniques. And then brewing, with secrets that Guinness must have known of. Then you will have found, along with a variety of others, An Ale, known as, "The Backhand of God"!. My First choice.

Swing by here as much as we can when I'm in Shushwap area. Family friendly. Good beer! Organic and unfiltered. My favourite is the Back Hand of God Stout. A must try if yo like tradition English stouts.

We popped by the Sorrento Farmer's Market and picked up a couple of growlers. The beer was great! Next time I want to go to the actual farm. They raise sheep for fleece, and had samples of the fibre on display. Being a spinner, I want to see their operation.

Our second visit to Crannog, bought a few growlers each time with different varieties of beer and ales, very tasty and made from local resources in an ethical and sustainable way. Highly recommend if you enjoy craft beer.

We bought their beer from the farmer's market, and loved all of the samples we tried. I can see why they're an institution: they stick to their principles, and are not afraid to make the challenging decisions associated with it. (For example, I'm sad that they only sell in growlers, since it makes it impossible for me to have it when I'm not in the area, but I totally get why and appreciate their commitment.) Looking forward to our next visit!

Crannog produces our favourite beer, Backhand of God, and anytime we're nearby we always stop for a growler. If you haven't tried it before it's definitely worth stopping by the brewery for a visit.

So glad we stumbled upon the Crannog Ales brewery in Sorrento! We weren't able to do the tour as they are offered on Fridays and Saturdays, but bought a few of the 1L growlers to do our own tastings! The brewery is on a beautiful idyllic farm with mountain views, complete with loads of organically farmed hops, beautiful flowers, quirky sculptures, sheep, chickens and a friendly farm dog. Would love to come back for a full tour! Highly recommended.

We were driving though BC with an empty growler when we realized were were close to Crannog Ales. Having previously tried their beer we decided to stop by. Unfortunately we did not realize that it isn't really the kind of place you can just drop by. They do have tours if you book them and we wish we had. We weren't able to get our growler filled (they explained that they were too busy with farming) but were able to buy a growler of their cherry beer which we really enjoyed. Crannog is a perfect mix of using what you grow, growing what you need and brewing what you love. This is a very special operation and we will certainly book a tour when we are in the neighbourhood next.
