Walks, crab fishing and watersports all in one place.

Great place to take a walk and do a spot of crabbing off the promenade wall. It was our first time crabbing and we ended up with a bucketful of them, they’re plentiful! Some places nearby sell the crabbing lines and nets etc and fish guts are available for £1.50 a bag which the crabs seemed to absolutely love. There’s a whole range of water sports going on here too and it’s a great place to sit and relax and watch the world go by. My only drip would be the smell of the bins along the prom which really stank whenever anyone opened them up to put something in.

A must visit in Mudeford
Sep. 2021 • Couples
A beautiful area to while away the hours watching boats birds and people. A fish shack, pub and cafe with public toilets all together and a large car park with reasonable prices for seaside parking. Ferry across the spit to Mudeford sandbanks a must and only £2 adults/ £1 children each way and the beach is great

September sunny day
Sep. 2021
Chasing the sun from Oxfordshire, we decided on a weekday visit to Mudeford Quay. Always clean and tidy and always something to watch, coffe shop by the ferry and fresh fish to purchase, kids will enjoy the crabbing

Not good today
Aug. 2021 • Family
We have always loved this place and been here numerous times before but today when we visited it felt very different. We arrived early to get parking and take our normal stroll along.
When we got to the beach it was busy but that’s ok as it’s the summer holidays but I disliked all the dogs off their leads running over everything and running up to people. I’ve never know it like this before. Once we popped our chairs out my daughter wanted her lunch so she opened her food and sat down and this dog came over lunged at her and stole her food. The owners didn’t give 2 hoots. What should of been a nice family day ended in tears because of this
Most of the dogs were good and the owners actually watched them and recalled but this certain family didn’t care.
It’s out me off going again
Such a shame for such a beautiful treasure

Nice for families

Great place for crabbing, lovely park for younger children.

Nice place for a walk on a summer evening

The quay has an excellent fish monger (where you can buy bait for crabbing), and a friendly cafe and shop.

If you want seafood go elsewhere.
Aug. 2021
Went to Haven cafe for evening meal. Food was atrocious. Crab cakes with no crab 1/4 of an inch thick full of black pepper and fried to within an inch of their life. Sea food platter costing £30 all covered in batter looked like an Iceland special. Prawns with no taste. If the food wasn't bad enough the lady behind the counter was rude and abrupt. Avoid!

Long weekend
Jul. 2021 • Couples
Been to mudeford dozens of times and when we go to the new forest or Christchurch this is the first place we head for. Set in Christchurch harbour it’s a beautiful place to walk along the seafront to the Avon beach plenty of things going on pub cafes and the noisy lobster. Which is a very popular restaurant. Plenty of water sports. Spend a brilliant day there for all the family (crabbing is a must).

Bring your own Sandwiches.
Jul. 2021 • Couples
Mudford Quay is beautiful.

But next time I'll be bringing my own sandwiches. A very nice sandwich it was but at £5.50 a pop I'd expect no less. So as just me having not too bad. But if that was a family of four would be a very expensive lunch.
