We were here in August 2017 and were impressed that most of the heritage of this building is intact. We never realized until we were on the 3rd floor that this is the only historical clock in Canada still in use! Humboldt should be very proud of this!

This is probably the town's main attraction. It's in a rather large, heavy-looking c.1910 red-brick building that used to be a post office, and has an attractive clock tower. Admission is free. The 3-floor interior is divided into a series of small period rooms and displays, such as a prairie schoolroom. The problem in museums of this sort (this one is no exception) is that each room is absolutely crammed with too many objects, so it seems like you're in a crowded warehouse. I would focus on just one or two objects in each display and leave before claustrophobia sets in!
When I was there, the museum seemed to be staffed by rather nonchalant students who looked bored, and just talked among each other without greeting me. One of them even spilled a bottle of water on some cards I was buying, when I was paying for them!
Outside the museum is a surprising bronze bust of the 19th-century German explorer and scientist Alexander von Humboldt, after whom the town is named. (Humboldt never explored Saskatchewan!)
The museum is in the middle of town, which proclaims its German heritage with mock, half-timbered business-fronts and shops along the main street. Its attempt to replicate aspects of old German houses, hunting lodges and castles is rather too "quaint"-looking---but that makes it distinctive from other small Saskatchewan towns.

Open to the public most days this old building houses the history of Humboldt and surrounding heritage. I recommend taking a look inside admission is free, donations are accepted.

Saskatchewan is riddled with museums in almost every town and city. This museum is housed in a stunning heritage building and run by some of the most dedicated, kind hearted people you can meet. Don't pass through town without visiting.

Good historical information about the whole area. The artist shows they host are fantastic. The gallery is really a nice modern area. They also have "entertainment cafés" now and then with local and traveling artists that are
