Plenty of parking on a dry day. Cost £3 but got that back within a minute as we are English Heritage members. Audio description - excellent. The slide down from the ramparts was very popular with the children.

This is wonderful castle which sits well in both the countryside and on the outskirts of Framingham. There is n excellent refurbishment going on at the moment, so the exhibit area is not available, but the castle and battlements are what we all want to see, supported by a really good audio tour. There is a huge slide from the... More

Impressive castle with good audio tour. Currently undergoing major refurbishment until sometime later in 2017 so only the ramparts are open. Still impressive and until end of May (check before visiting) there's a fun slide down from the ramparts.

I love it here. It is so relaxed. You can picnic on the grass and roll down grass hills. Dogs are allowed everywhere except inside the house. My daughter didn't want to go but when I told her it was Ed Sheeran's Castle on the Hill she was happy to go! We pulled into the car park listening to the... More

The castle is undergoing extensive renovations currently and so only the curtain wall and central area are accessible. Walking around the top of the curtain wall is an experience - and the audio tour adds to the interest. There's 2 versions of the audio tour - both provide the same information but in a very different manner! Worth listening to... More

Came to visit the castle on a beautiful sunny day. Extremely picturesque! Could see all the exhibits as there is currently refurbishment work ongoing. Slide is fantastic!! Highly recommend! Also got couple of hours car parking so we were able to go into framlingham for a bit too!

What a beautiful place, steeped in history and very scenic. Quite pricey and one bit was closed. But well worth a visit.

Blue skies & warm Easter sunshine made our visit an enjoyable one. Unfortunately the poorhouse was closed but we enjoyed walking onto the battlements and reading the information briefs situated throughout. Taking two under 6's meant they played at being garrison while we sat for a while, soaking up the atmosphere and humming Ed's recent hit. A short walk outside... More

Can't complain for what it is but very pricey entrance considering only a short visit is needed. Beautiful trail walk around the nearby fields though.

Visited both inner part of Castle , using our English Heritage members cards. Loads of families having picnics, playing and enjoying the surrounds. At moment, due to extensive building repairs, a time tunnel slide (metal) allows anyone to descend in a fun way from the castle wall. Audio tapes are available. Good views. Small cafe kiosk in castle and shop... More
