It does not matter where you stop, the view is stunning everywhere. There are some lakes that are so clear, you can see the bottom clearly! This is a must visit when you are in the south of France!

We really didn't have enough time here to explore, only driving the northern pass along the gorge. It was absolutely stunning! We googled for which way round to do it and couldn't find an answer. Even when asking locals nearby at a shop, there was...More

Came here in early September, weather-wise I think it is perfect, also fewer people. Stayed in camping near the lake, near canoe rentals. I was pleasantly surprised that both accepted credit cards, although camping place needed deposit in cash. Took canoe to go into the...More

We took a roadtrip through Verdon Gorge, taking the longer route. Our November visit was incredibly quiet - I think we saw just one other vehicle. The rock formations and fantastic but for us, seeing so many vultures up close was what made the experience...More

The Verdon Gorge is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. There is so much to do and definitely something for everyone. We went on some brilliant walks and bike rides, spent time swimming in the lake, and visited local vineyards. The...More

The Gorges du Verdon is stunning a must see probably the deepest gorge in Europe. Hire a electric boat, pedalo or kayak to have a peaceful trip into the gorge. The roads are very twisty and not for the feint hearted. Off season is best...More

We had been told by many that the Gorges du Verdon were something to be experienced, they are the deepest gorges in continental Europe. We were not disappointed. The combination of pristine water, interesting rock formations, respectful kayakers, canoeists and electric boaters made it a...More

We were recommended this trip by our landlord in Apt, as the one thing not to miss when you are in Provence and it proved to be quite true. There is a ring road around the edge of the Gorges with lots of places to...More

The Verdon Gorge is indeed very beautiful but parts of it have become overrun by tourists in recent decades. Our favourite way to explore is by hiking, but if feeling tired then by car is also a great way to see the spectacular views, if...More

I think the rentals may have stopped however if not, hiring an electric boat costs €40 euros an hour you can also rent pedaloes and kayaks. An hour is enough to pass the time. Ensure you do as the staff say don't try... More

If possible, I’d drive from St Rémy in the afternoon and stay overnight. The drive around the Gorge itself takes a while and you want to be on the road early before there’s too many cars. You’ll also want to canoe through... More
