I am a short overweight 58yr old. Just did the walk with 65 yr old much fitter hubby. 1hr up, 45 min back. Took my time, lots of short stops to catch my breath.
Even climbed to the very top, a struggle to reach the metal hand/foot holds when clambering over rocks but I got there. Definitely worth it!! Shame bushfire smoke in the air so view not great but still glad I did it.

A lovely, albeit challenging, circa 2km hike to the top, before you need to navigate some tricky areas to get to the ladder. You will then be greeted with truly amazing views.
It is worth traveling a long way to check this place out. As it is close to Bluff Knoll, if you're doing that, you certainly want to check out Castle Rock too.

drobe into the Mational park and paid for the enterance fee. started the walk of 2kms (one way) to the summit. the climb was moderate although you have to be watchful you don't trip over rising tree roots and loose rocks. saw the balancing rock near the end of the climb. we reached the top and went to the lookout. this provided a good view of the Park. we then headed up to the Skywalk. we used the handlebars that were installed to the rocks and followed others . up one level and over a large rock, up a 7m ladder and onto the Skywalker. view was amazing! the climb down was much easier and seemed shorted. definitely worth the trip.

The walk is challenging - steep sections with large step ups but a really well done track and we’re not serious walkers and have general fitness. If you have heart, breathing or joint /leg difficulties you will fine this very hard I think as would little kids. About 2.5 kms but feels like 4-5ks!! We set off at 8.30am and it was fairly hot then but quiet on the trail up. Busier on the way down so pays to get there early. National park fees apply (we had an annual pass via rac).
Took about 2 hours all up. View at the top from the skywalk was wonderful - all round views for miles. Would definitely recommend - we both really enjoyed it.

The walk is moderate with some clambering over rocks at the top and climbing a steep ladder. The view is fantastic, best on a clear day to take advantage of it. The walkway is awesome. It's beautiful and peaceful walking through the bush listening to the bird call as you go. Spotted lots of wrens, especially at bbq area, robins honey eaters and red capped parrots. We had a bbq after the walk, it was a glorious day and we thoroughly enjoyed it, so relaxing. The bbq area was clean and there are new toilets. The only disappointing part was seeing empty plastic water bottles that people have discarded on the track during their walk, it's maddening!!!! We pick them up if we see them. We saw similar at Bluff Knoll and even a disposable nappy, grrrrr. So please take your rubbish with you don't throw it in the bush. There is a fee as it is in a National Park, you pay by card at the machine at start of walk. Put ticket on car dash so can be seen.

This place is amazing didn’t think it would be so awesome. It’s a 2.2km hold up a 12%gradient takes about 1hr if your not fit don’t try or at least take your time. It’s quiet a dork out going up but majestic through the rainforest. When you get to the top it’s a bit of a challenge to climb fond rocks and then climb the ladder up onto the incredible granite sky bridge. The view is breathtaking and well birth the climb. The summit if about 1800’ if 560mtrs high. Highly recommend it!

We climbed up Castle Rock last weekend and it took 1 hour up and 1 back. The views were spectacular. The trek up was a bit muddy from the rains however hiking shoes are a must.

Castle rock is all right, a great job has been done to help people to climb up and it's quite funny. Nevertheless, the view is not nice (how can people rate 5 stars and write the view is awesome? If you want I can show you some pictures of other places and you will see what a nice view is), no sea, no city, no lakes, no mountain, no river: just fields everywhere. So 12 dollars it's a little bit expensive, it doesn't really worth it

Not too long a hike (4 km round trip). May be steep for some, but all ages seemed to be able to do it. The bit before the granit walkway can be dicey, but well worth the effort. What a view! Stunning.

Great walk that has done challenges. Just pace yourself and take rests when needed.

Loved walking under the tree canopy. We walked early so missed the crowds- it can get busy super quick.

Passed a lot of walkers ill prepared, not enough water, if any, no walking shoes or walking clothes. Many failed to make the viewing platform.

Prepare for the walk, take your time and enjoy the adventure. The rock climb has its challenges- I’m very short and some longer legs would have helped. But I did it- just slowly and carefully.
