About
The Duvel Moortgat brewery was founded in 1871. A specialized, beer-passionate guide will tell you the story of innovative brewing with respect for family tradition and quality, in a 2-hour tour, including a tasting and the typical pouring ritual for Duvel. Cheers!

Interesting

Interesting tour, easy to follow thanks to the headsets allowing you to roam around and still hear the guide clearly.
Brewing beer is not an exceptionally long process. The tour is about an hour long and explains the steps from raw ingredients to bottling.
At the end you get to try some of the many beers brewed there with a lot of passion. I found out that the Duvel however is not amongst my top favourites.

Educational and interesting tour
Jul. 2019 • Family
We had the opportunity to tour Duvel. Our guide, Brigitte, was knowledgeable and very interactive with the group. Our kids found the experience fun. As home brewers, there is always more to learn. We both learned new things on this tour.

An excellent experience @ Duvel Moortgat Brewery

Excellent tour and useful information about the history of the beer brand provided by the tour facilitator of the company. The best part of the tour was the tasting and the secret gift for each participant. Surely recommended :)

Wonderful tour and delicious beer
Apr. 2019 • Business
I was part of a large school tour of the brewery. Not only was the tour guide incredibly knowledgeable, she was very witty and sharp. After the tour we were allowed to try a few of the beers. Hands down some of the best beer I had while traveling in Europe. I tried both the Duvel and the Cashmere [seasonal] beers. Delicious! Great experience for any tourist, especially those who love beer. Take the tour, learn something and then enjoy the beer. Cheers. :)

Fantastic and authentic beer tasting experience
Feb. 2018 • Friends
I have been here 3 times. I love it. You need to be in a group of 4 or more to book on line. It costs around 7-9€, you have 45min tour of brewery and bottling plant. After there is a beer tasting with cheese.

To finish an already very good day, you then receive some gifts. Not bad for 7-9€ !!!

While visit lasts 90-120mins.

Best Brewery Tour Ever!
Jun. 2018 • Couples
I've been on a number of brewery tours, particularly in the USA, but lets be honest - beer is made about the same way at all breweries. That's not to say that the Moorgat Duvel Brewery isn't itself worth the visit. The bottling operation is state-of-the-art and the brewery operation is well-organized, clean and run with a keen eye toward preserving our environment. That itself, along with the second in-bottle fermentation is interesting in and of itself.

What makes this a must-do visit for Belgium beer lovers is the hospitality!! Our tour guide was Bridget who had worked for the Moorgat family for over 30 years. There isn't an adjective I know of to describe how knowledgeable, nice and hospitable she is. I felt more as a guest in the home of Bridget and Philip, the manager, than a tour participant. Bridget really brings home the fact that this is a family business that cares about beer, customers, employees and the environment. We tasted many of their fantastic array of beers of every variety, and Bridget listened carefully to our preferences. There was no pressure to move on - in fact the Belgium national soccer team was playing an early round World Cup match well after our tour, and Bridget invited us to stay! We had to move on, but were amazed by the way we were treated!!

Don't miss this and say "Hi" to Bridget and Philip for us!

Great updated brewery and tour
Sep. 2017 • Couples
Booking brewery tours in Belgium is not as easy as it sounds. Most of the time, you have to book using a very restrictive and non-intuitive web page that caters to large groups. We were able to get an answer from a person who added us to a brewery tour that was already booked, but trying to add a single or couple to a reservation is impossible. We think they should change that.

On arrival at the brewery, which is in a very small town 30 minutes outside of Brussels, we were pleasantly surprised to be dropped right at the door by the local bus. Although we were early, they allowed us into the bar and served us while we waited for the rest of the group. Note that normally, the entrance is locked, so if you're early for a booked tour, you would typically have to entertain yourself waiting for them to unlock the gate. There's not a lot to do in town other than this tour.

The bar is very updated and nice with plenty of wood panelling and Duvel-Moortgat souvenirs and antiques. We thought it was tasteful.

One drawback of the brewery tour is that you don't actually get to visit the brewhouse. We walked around it and there was a nice exhibit of some of the brewing essentials on the walk-by, but it was a major disappointment and it's not specified anywhere that you can't actually see the brewery.

The guide was very helpful and did talk about the history, the amalgamations and the present status of the brewery and was open to all questions.

The tour ends up with a choice of beer and a snack, which we really liked.

It was great to visit the brewery and nice to see what was available, but it's not the most well-thought out tour, especially for beer geeks or nerds. For casual beer lovers or drinkers, it's great. Not too long and not at all boring.
