We visited Punkva caves and Katerinska Cave. The latter was almost more impressive. Very large and vast cave that is a bit off the path so make sure you don't miss it. The guide turned on some music during the tour and let us hear the acoustics in the cave and they were phenomenal. We could have spent an hour... More

I have been on maravian karst on 2009 on a summer time, we have fun and adventure at the same time. The Punkva cave is our favorite. After 6 years, we go back, this time it is winter time. The view is also beautiful :) the best part the cave tour is improved, now they have an audio presentation on... More

A group of five friends drove out the Moravian Karst on Saturday morning. We had telephoned ahead to enquire about a tour, but were told that it was sold out. However, once we arrived at the visitor centre were were surprised to find that there was actually availability and so we booked a tour. The cave system is absolutely vast... More

This was a very nice trip. We wanted to see Punkova caves, it's a boat tour, but that tour was sold out. Instead we walked through the forest and down to Katerinska caves. It was also beautiful. The train ride (we were traveling with a small child) to the upper levels and the cable car to Macocha Abyss were pleasant... More

There are more than 1 000 caves in this area and however you can visit only few of them it is really amazing tour. You can go hiking and visit Macocha Abyss or you can use funicular to get at the top of this attracton. You can even stay for night in Chata Macocha - accommodation just few meters from... More

Take the cable car to the bottom ! Or walk down, I wouldn't waste my energy on that rather take the walk to Katherine caves.. Very cold in side so better be prepared.. What an amazing experience to ride the boat in underground river.. Try to use public transport and walk as much as possible when you are in this... More

Largest world cave system, especially The Punkva Caves accessible by boats, The Macocha Abyss and many others. Most visited natural sight in Moravia and Czech Republic.

We're sight seeing in Prague for a few days . Took the bus to Brno and stayed overnight . Took an early train at 8 am to Blansko. This took about 30 minutes. Got the bus 226 to Skalni Mlyn which took 10 minutes. The Punkova caves are closed this month and we were aware. We walked to Machocca Abyss... More

So the whole Karst is listed as one attraction? There are several hundred of caves (small, big), mountains, streams, tourist trails and everything else. And all this about 20 minutes of train ride from Brno.

An easy enough daytrip from Brno, but you need to plan it in advance. The connections are infrequent, the Punkva caves often need reservations in advance (and these really are the best ones to go to), and you need more time there than you think. We walked all afternoon and only ended up having time to do the Punkva caves.... More
