About
Keila Waterfall is located on the Keila River, Keila-Joa small town, Keila Rural Municipality, Harju County. The waterfall is 6 metres in height and tens of metres in width, being thus the third most powerful waterfall in Estonia following only Narva Waterfall and Jagala Waterfall. There is a path taking you from the park along the riverbed and over two suspension bridges to the waterfall.Interesting to know: - There is a tradition among local people to come to the waterfall on their wedding day, fasten a padlock bringing fortune on the chain bridge and after fastening throw the key into the fast-flowing river.

Very beautiful waterfall. There is a large park around where you can take a walk. It looks very lovely and perfect for a sunset. There was parking and there seemed to be also eating facilities but they were closed when I was there in April. Very nice atmosphere with many local families. I recommend.

The waterfall is beautiful in a small canyon and there are some buildings next to it belonging to the activities that historically have taken place there. Surprisingly the place was closer to buildings and roads as we thought, therefore vert easily accessible, only 100 m from the parking place. We checked out the waterfall from both sides of the rivesr altogether 45 mins. A longer walk might be nice along the river's edge.

Keila Joa is a small village in the suburbs of Tallinn. Amazingly beautiful and wonderful place, I advise everyone to visit it in the summer!

While visiting Estonia, my wife and I were fortunate enough to take a small tour group from Tallinn into the countryside for a day. Our group of 7 plus driver made multiple stops from a former USSR missile base, to Baltic shoreline and here at Keila Waterfall. This was one of our favorite visits while in Estonia, it highlighted the country's interior beauty. The 2nd highest waterfall in Estonia, it pales in height comparison to North American waterfalls...but it's equally beautiful. Learning the region's geographical history and importance to Estonians, we loved our hour long visit exploring the falls.
This is not an impossible area to reach, but it will be much easier if you hire a guide to take you. There are several locations along the route from Tallin to Keila-Joa Alevik, we would recommend a stop here in conjunction with other historical points of significance. Estonia is a beautiful country with much promise ahead, a visit to Keila Waterfall highlights what is in the past and what is in the future.

... with delicious finish. First you walk over two bridges to reach a fantastic viewpoint of the waterfall and afterwards you walk along the river until you reach a sandy forest by the sea. Returning, you should not miss the little Café next to the waterfall which serves delicious food for very little money. Tri the pelmenid!

Our guide took us here and let us explore on our own. The bridge with the locks started to fall and the locks have been removed, but a lovely sculpture has been erected nearby to hold the removed locks and have new ones connected.
