We visited the Lilleshall Monument on a Sunday afternoon, the views from the monument are great and there are plenty of benches up there to sit and take it in.

Lovely to have a walk up, I always enjoy it when it’s dusk or dark and you can see all the villages lit up and the cars. Just nice to take a minute watching the world.

The Monument itself, dedicated to the 1st Duke of Sutherland, is a great piece of engineering, but it's the views that make this place worth the climb.

Some fantastic views from the top, we parked in the small car park by the school and walked. The walk isn't as steep as it appears from the bottom and is certainly worth the effort

After visiting Lilleshall Abbey, which I thought very good, we spotted the monument and decided to investigate, it took us a while to find a suitable parking place and found that the primary school car park is probably the closest to the the monument. When...More
